Real Fur Question

I have a vintage 1950's full pelt real mink stole. I'd like to use this as an assesory on my fursuit, but also do want to be the center of a furcon drama storm.
What I have discovered, the 3 minks probably came from Russian farms and were around 6-8 months old which according to some reports is the average life expectancy of wild minks due many young minks killed due to disease, starvation and predators. These three appear to have been well fed and cared for before they had one very bad day. I could find nothing on conditions of Soviet era fur farms only modern ones and most of it seemed to be propaganda from those for and those against. I know from the American farms that raise animals for fur that I have been to animals are treated well and cared for because sick and distressed animals do not produce quality fur. I have no choice but to assume that the farm these came from were equally attentive to these minks needs.
What I want to know is should I wear this stole to a furcon or not? I see lots of leather clothing and things and such, but these are quite obvious formally live animal pelts.

You MIGHT be safe as long as you don't tell anybody it's real fur. Maybe say it's fake. But that would kind of defeat the purpose of wearing a real one? I dunno.
