2017 GTFO - Bring on 2018! Bye Felicia!

So, as you can see from my Journal Title, 2017 can just fucking go and be done with itself.
GO, bye, BYE FELICIAAAAAAAAAA! *drop kicks it*
2017 was just a smidge less sucktastic than 2016 for me. More ups and downs instead of the almost ever perpetual presences of stress/negativity/depression/anxiety but seriously, just by a bit.
Obviously, the “ups” are my highlights of the year, which I shall list below so this isn’t just a post full of me being Negative Nancy. (leave Nancy out of this, she’s had it hard, of course she’s negative damnit!)
✰ I survived it.
✰ I got closer to people that matter to me. Over the years I’ve weeded out and gotten rid of people that were toxic or I was merely a friend of convenience. I’ve laughed, cried, talked, and of course drank more with my beloved friends. Lol I am a very firm believer in the phrase “Good food, good booze and good friends"
✰ Megaplex XVI- 6th time attending and as always amazing. Not only is it now pretty much my mates Bday present but it is for me, literally a light at the end of the tunnel. It’s my mid-year “OK, you can do it, you can make it” get me through kinda thing. Not just for the vacation, the Con and everything but also the amazing friends we’ve made there. You know who you are. :3 ❤❤❤
✰October- My mate and I’s anniversary, we’ve made it 9 years now. I got an original art piece from one of his favorite arts, Alison Action of Bearnuts. It made him cry, totes win the present game XD
Also always awesome time of year to get decor for the houseand what not. Plus its of course it's our favorite season. =^_^=
✰ Spent my Bday on the beach of St. Augustine as well as a few more just for a mini vacation. It was just so nice not to have a “forced” agenda for a trip out of town. Literally just winged it w/ vague ideas. It was wonderful and I cannot get the image of the sea with the moon over it out of my mind.
✰ New artist to be inspired by, new music and YouTubers that gives me life and new art supplies to play with.
✰ Epic Gaming Laptop (HP OMEN) bc my old one of many years died. I got it for a freaking steal on Cyber Monday on Amazon. Still can’t believe it. T^T<3
✰ Yule. Around this time of year, the holidays, I tend to not enjoy. Mix of childhood memories but mostly the hypocrisy of it all. Brings the worst out of people as well as their stupidity. Everyone goes mad! My mate and I were determined to try and make it better for us. We ended up decorating the front of the house as Nightmare Before Christmas theme! Not to mention out normal traditions that we always do but the outside was something new.
✰ New Years. Ended up spending time with my brother in law at his new place and it was very pleasant and nice. It's amazing what a life or death situation can do to people. lol
Short and sweet I am going to try my damnedest to make 2018 better than the last 2 years. I know there are things out of my control, of course, as there will always be. Although for me I find things getting harder to deal with getting older vs when I was younger. (yay lol) I just hope work will improve and stop being a cluster and that I can focus on my art again and do/explore more things. I’m not getting any younger and I need to do more while I still can financially/ mentally/ physically...
Sometimes you spend so much time just trying to survive and function that you tend to forget to live.
