So I know I said in the past that I'd work on character backstories... and that I'd have some progress done starting a week after that post. I'm embarrassed that I can honestly say that I've made absolutely zero progress. I didn't forget, and I'm still interested in doing so.

Part of me is aware that aside from the six-and-a-half month deployment and multiple other shorter trips out to sea in the year and some change since that post that I've had some free time to exercise my writing but never took the opportunity to do so.
As I quickly approach the end of my sea tour in the Navy, I remember stories of people getting out of the service and staring at a TV that's been off for hours because they've already done everything related to what they previously viewed as "hobbies".

Moral of the story, short as it is, I need a real hobby or two and I plan to make world-building through the medium of writing one of them. However, I'm in need of ideas and examples to learn and maybe even take inspiration from. I'm aware of a few that exist among the people that I watch, :Fluff-Kevlar: and :Prince_Vaxis: are probably the most developed that I've actually looked at. So, for any of you that took the time to get this far... do any of you know any other good world-building examples?
