Finnian Ennis' basic background story!
Once upon a time there was a boy who had it all.
Born as the sole heir to the Ennis Corporation, the young tiger really didn't have such a bad life. Money was never an issue and while his parents -kind and loving- didn't have a lot of time for their son, there was plenty of cash to throw in some more presents to keep him distracted for a while.
As the company's succes grew, the time that his parents were able to actually spend with him diminished and he found himself longing for attention.
It was Finnian's mother who'd noticed that their son was getting increasingly frustrated, however and she knew that they'd given him less attention than he'd needed as a growing boy and a butler was never a good substitute for a real parent.
A long family holiday would solve that problem.
Finnian had been giddy when his parents showed him the tickets.
A month away with his parents. Just the three of them together on a holiday on a tropical island. Far away from anything concering the corporation. Far away from those assholes who worked with his folks. Assholes that had dollar signs in their eyes whenever they opened their mouths.
It warm and humid evening when they left for the airport and Finnian had fallen asleep on the ride there, dreaming of exciting things to come.
The car never reached the airport.
When the Ennis' vehicle was found, the scene of the crime had shocked the investigators. The wreck of the car was still smouldering and shards of glass and bent metal were sprewn around the area. Inside the wreck, Maria Ennis' body was found in the back seat. The woman had been shot point blank through the head. A few yards away, Sean Ennis' body lied sprawled face-down, executed with a shot to the back of the head.
Their twelve year old son was missing and the investigators found a trail of blood leading away from the scene but stopped at the edge of a lengthy drop down the ravine where a wild river ran through the bottom. The amount of blood they'd found was enough to have bled the boy out and if it hadn't killed him, the drop in itself would have finished the job.
After a thorough search for the body, they had come up with nothing.
Only a few weeks later, the newspapers had all declared him dead and with the lack of heir, the control of the Ennis Corporation and all of its assets had been given to the board of directors who'd been serving Mr. Ennis.
