are people still flipping their tits over F-list?

I remember F-list being real big for a while, then -something- happened that people lost their shit about, and like overnight it became not-a-thing anymore. I just looked at the site for the first time in years, and I'm wondering why a seemingly useful service that lists people's likes and dislikes isn't being utilized like it once was. am I missing something, or did the website simply fall out of trendiness like a myspace?
FA+

To a degree I agree with that, although not so strongly.
Still, the website and chat functionality themselves are still great - makes organizing interests easy and looking up characters with mutual interests a breeze.
It's the same as it is everywhere.
I've made a good amount of friends on there, so I can't say that I'm unhappy at all about using it every once in a while.
Between F-List, Aryion/Eka's, and Vulpine Hollow, F-List is easily the best.
There was also someone that did something, like an ex-staff member...who later was going to be a staff member here on FA but because of their F-list thing they didn't. I'm kind of out of the loop on the whole details though.
I think what else happened was other sites took the traffic away. Like Weasyl lets you post your characters and such as your characters...so why would you need a separate site to list your likes and such when you could just do it on your characters there? Same with sites like Toyhouse. Though this is just a guess on my part.
"On February 3, 2011 (08:00 UTC), F-list was compromised by ex-coder/moderator Zidonuke, who was removed for abuse of privileges. The compromise resulted in all users being given admin privileges on the site and moderator privileges in the chat. The admins online at the time were banned from the site, as Zidonuke had hidden a backdoor program on the server and hacked the code. F-list was taken offline shortly after, with a broadcast on the chat by the ex-coder that there were no recent backups. It is uncertain whether the site was taken offline as a defensive measure by F-list staff, or by the Zidonuke. As of now, the site remains back up after a server wipe. Private Data consisting of email, IP records, and user logs were available to all users through the "log viewer" page while the site was up, as they were all admins. The users who abused this were timed-out of the site."
I'd have used it myself, except I'm too damn lazy to set up an account on there and spend time adding everything I'm into... (I'm into a lot of things...)
