Why would they do that? That seems to be a criminal violation to send your personal info to someone else.

well by sending the info to youtube you say you give them permission to forward it to youtube. Though I'm sure there is still a legal issue there.

I agree. But of course it's all because of companies that sue for their copyright material, even though truly, even if it is someone elses content it isn't hurting anyone, it's probably serving as free advertising.

Admittedly I have noticed a couple consistancies around the people that are being picked as targets.

*All seem to be femme fursuiters (independent of the biological gender of whom owns said suit)
*Many(if not all) seem to be within 2 degrees or less of Rabbitinthemoon's friends (at least those of which wear the furry kind of fursuit costumes)

In addition, the perp covers his tracks well. He/she is getting a username suspended, than using that very username in his message to YT for instigating the next round of DMCA takedowns.

True, but it seems that youtube may be willing to provide any information needed for a claim against the person filing the false reports.

I've talked to my friend at YouTube and he's still working on it but it does seem positive and might lead to some changes in how they do counterclaims on this matter.
