I've been in the same situation, really upsetting.
I have emailed patreon about it and they said that hopefully soon more creators will have the option to charge up front which should hopefully stop most if not all fake accounts.

I've been dealing with a LOT of these myself. I'll be glad when I can actually turn on charge up front, I don't want to, of course, but it's the only way to get around it.

Plus with CUF on, it might stop bot accounts from trying to get at my early access stories so they can put em up on Yiff Party, cause I'm pretty sure that's what they do @_@

Just a dollar. An up front donation of a single dollar would stop this shit in its tracks.

Yeah. The fakes put in charges to make sure the credit card authorizations go through. By not charging upfront Patreon has kind of openly become a stolen credit card testing ground.

Same here, I charge per month, then the people on the $15 tier get a short story commission. If I did it per submission they'd be charged every time I posted a story and there'd be an unending chain of stories from that.

This only affects you if you are using Patreon as a paywall or early access. If not, then you're wasting your time - why remove fraud accounts more often than once per month, if all they're doing is reposting your stuff?

Ah, so that's the reason I've been getting those too. On the one hand, nice to know I'm worth pirating. But, there's nothing but sketches that the rest of FA doesn't see in a week.

Of course, the fake accounts are shut down pretty quickly so, we don't really NEED to block them but, I agree with Proxer, it's the principle.

I've seen some people make a ridiculous price tier since the bots will try and pledge as high as they can. Anyone that pledges that high they just block.

Hmm, maybe ill try that. Typically, I see them at my lower pledges. Once, I got to watch in realtime as someone pledged a dollar, then upgraded it 3 times, and then vanished.

That sounds like the work of a person on the other end yea. Most likely looking to steal your content. But I'm pretty sure the automated fake accounts always go high.

It was a TON of work and time to sort through them all every month -- now I just let them get to 'fraud' status and ignore them from there. Otherwise it's such a waste of time.

They really do need a way to delete more than one fraud at once, though -- that's a feature that's annoying as all hell. One... at... a... time...

Hi Proxer, my art's already be scraped by yiff.party and it's literally what I'm living off of at the moment. As in, without Patreon, I'd be homeless.

Have you considered a class action lawsuit? Patreon made it clear they aren't going to take legal action on behalf of artists to those who have filed complaints, but all the Patreon artists whose work has been stolen could file a class action lawsuit. We'd just have to band together enough people.

I imagine enough artists are in my situation that they can't ever really afford to sue by themselves. For me, it's more a principal that they are stealing from the poor to give to the lazy. A class action would make it possible for people like me to contribute.

It isn't like people couldn't go scrape it themselves without ultimately having to donate anything.

That doesn't sound like a terrible idea, though I've no idea how those are formulated.

Prolly we need to get people together first. With enough people and such a clear case of illegal activity, then all we'd have to do is reach out to a lawyer and they'll jump on it in a heartbeat.

Hell, chances are there's already a lawyer that is fans of some of the artists being wronged by yiff.party. I bet they'd be willing to help if we asked our communities.
