Official Plug - Pine Fur Con!

Less than three months till the inauguration of Maine's first furry convention.
Held in South Portland...because the center of Maine is so uninviting, even the interstate avoids it. No seriously, take a look at a map.
Held in the Doubletree Hotel...because
NovarLynx's mom wouldn't let us hold it at his house. Even though we promised to pick up after ourselves.
Held in late April, when most people should be getting their tax returns and feeling splurgy.
Guests of Honor include
estobhan, a kitsune who sounds like a cat, and 
Takoda, a wolf who's named for a Mexican snack.
2018's theme is Heroes vs Villains. Villains will not need to eat a kitten to prove their credentials.

Augusta Civic Center, but as it is municipal owned, you'd be charged extra for using the facilities on a weekend. And no attached hotel--need to hike/drive from them to this facility.
The Samoset Resort in Rockport (not cheap)
And the Cross Insurance Center (formerly Bangor Civic Center and arena) in Bangor.
In the off season, you could host about 300 or so at either Sugarloaf or Sunday River.
In Portland itself, if the con outgrows the DoubleTree, there's only one other option, Holiday Inn by the Bay downtown and they're more expensive (or use to be).
Hoping for a successful con and many more to come from this Disgusta-based squirrel who has handled a few continuing education cons at the above facilities in the past. So, I have a clue what kind of work is involved in putting one of these together.
