You should watch, it's a good thing. The furries are people's VR avatars, so it's not like they're getting shoehorned into the Universal Century with some contrived genetic manipulation side story or something.

Don't get me wrong, UC is my favorite timeline by far, but there's lots of good shit in the various AUs (there's, what, eleven or twelve different timelines now?).

I still can't watch SEED, though. Something about Kira's character design just makes me irrationally annoyed, he just looks so stupid to me, and doesn't even really fit in with most of the other characters. And it's frustrating 'cause there's a bunch of characters that I actually like, and lots of cool suits (love the various Daggers).

SEED makes the best case against the AU because it encompasses everything wrong with the AU. Omnipotent, unbeatable Gundams piloted by 15 year old pretty boys flying through droves of enemies like its nothing. Antagonists who are always exact replicas of Char and enemy factions that pretty much always amount to 'Zeon with shitty MS design'. Fights that are little more than laser shows. Rinse and repeat for a majority of the series in the AU (barring IBO which, again, is the stand out among them and was a super refreshing addition the AU badly needed).

I have only one problem: they named him Rommel, named his team 7th Panzer Division, but they made him a ferret instead of a fennec? Why would you miss an opportunity like that? :D
