Regarding Nate having multiple partners
Hello everyone!
I've had some push back lately about Nate having multiple partners, or dating multiple people. Hopefully I can explain this.
I had never intended for my fursona, Nate Bowler, to exist solely in one universe. Rather, I wanted him to be present in more than one facet, sort of existing in multiple forms. For example, in one universe, Nate is married to a mouse named Maggie, who belongs to my friend
blueratmatt. He and I have come to an agreement that the marriage stays within those characters' universe. Meaning, whatever happens between those two is canon within that universe, but doesn't affect his relationship with other characters outside of that storyline.
Fans of my buddy
crazyassbeethoven's webcomic, Keeping Up With Thursday, may have noticed Nate appear in a brothel in 1890s Britain, or paired with his character Funday. No, he's not a time-traveler, but rather just a version of him that fit the mold of the universe he's in.
What I'm trying to say is that Nate can exist in multiple forms thanks to the Multiverse Theory. While many of his multiple incarnations have different images or traits that fit that universe, there's still a few things that stand firm with Nate, like believing in a monogamous relationship, being a gentleman (with a naughty side in private), and always being respectful of women. Just because one Nate gets betrothed doesn't mean ALL of them do.
