Crap Luck

Ramblings of a sexy wolf
Ugh... Just using this journal as a means to vent. My luck in the last few weeks has been abysmal to say the least. The worst of it began with Super Bowl Sunday, but not because I'm some football superfan (in fact I don't watch football). I work at a grocery story (a surprisingly well-paying grocery store considering my position). I tend to work the late shift and there are usually three people scheduled for cleanup. So, how does my supervisor handle Super Bowl cleanup? It was fine at first with three people, but our third party was out on bereavement. Knowing we would be shorthanded, she didn't adjust the schedule. And so, day shift had SEVEN people schedule and night shift only had two. Remember my abysmal luck? Well, I ended up being the only one to show up, and the higher ups never attempted to help me. I had to do the job of three people AFTER Super Bowl orders were completed.
When I went to work today, guess who was all alone with no help the moment he walked in? Yeah, this guy. Yeah... And then there's my hunt for a smut artist to take my money for drawn smut and striking out. Ungh... I feel like I've been stabbed by a knife forged of mediocrity and the wound is beginning to rot.

Sorry to hear you got dumped on. Just remember that you can only do so much, and proper staffing is your manager's job, not yours. If they short-staffed your shift, don't feel like you have to cover for everyone else.

OP
I've been abandoned before. When I was incapable of finishing everything before, I got in trouble. A pretty shit situation. The place pays very well, but they can be incompetent and stupid.
