Well, I hope you're happy, hero, because now you're stuck with the consequences.
I think we're all familiar with the rules by now, so I'll just get on with it...

I always feel like a tool when passing these things along -- it's like giving someone a social disease.
With that in mind, there's no one I'd rather share a social disease with than

Plus, he's only ever told me seven true things about his life and I WILL KNOW THE LAST.
I'm freaking DYING to know what piece Mr. Glover owns
I have not (yet) given gay furry art to any celebrities (yet).

Haha, but I've done work on a few dozen titles at this point, so if you play console games (especially RPGs) there's a decent chance you've read some of my stuff <3 What sorts of games do you play?
Oboro Muramasa is a fun slasher with RPG elements from the guys at Vanillaware (Odin Sphere, etc.) which is every bit as gorgeous as their previous offerings, plus is impeccably tuned to run on the Wii. There are often dozens of sumptuous sprites flying around on-screen and it doesn't slow down a bit. That should be coming out in the States before too long, I'd imagine, although the script seems kind of untranslatable to me (well, impossible to translate well, anyway) for the same reasons as Okami's was -- it's just too steeped in Japanese history, and so much background knowledge is assumed that they'll have to add a considerable amount of extra text to contextualize stuff, or it's all going to be kind of meaningless.
Rittai Picross (3D Picross) is a totally awesome puzzler for the DS that may or may not come over (although it seems like an easy choice, considering the low volume of text). I don't know if you played Picross at all, but the basic idea in the 3D version is that you're chipping away at a big mass of little cubic blocks to reveal a three-dimensional shape inside it -- imagine Minesweeper, but in 3D. And unlike Minesweeper, you're given hints as to how many blocks are "safe" in several of the rows and columns, so you can logically deduce which blocks have to go. It was a really fun game to go through, full of excited moments where I realized I'd figured out some new deductive tool.
Valkyria Chronicles is a gorgeous and very engaging strategy RPG for the PS3. It's basically a WWII-alogue, but with fantasy elements and a very fairytale feel to it, executed in a beautiful watercolor-and-colored-pencil style. It's decidedly not a realistic military experience, but that's a plus for me, too. It blends strategy and action RPG elements really nicely -- you start with a top-down map of the area for strategic planning, then when you select a unit, it zooms down onto the field and you control them directly. Despite a large cast of 40 or so folks under your control, the designers did a great job of giving them distinct personalities in a way that actually has an impact on gameplay. As a bonus, it's also a military game with a very inclusive view of gay folks <3
The World Ends With You for DS is a Square-Enix action RPG that's actually pretty fresh and interesting, and it pushes the interface the furthest I've seen it done. Literally every available input method is used. That can sound a bit intimidating if you're not a hardcore gamer, but I think they did a very good job of easing you into things, and in balancing it so that you can really set your own pace and difficulty and ignore about half of the combat system and still get by just fine. It's also about the gayest thing they've ever done, and that's saying something, considering we're talking about Square-Enix here.
If there are any genres you prefer, or games you've really enjoyed, I might be able to give a bit more of a pointed recommendation than that, but those are all games I've enjoyed in the last year or two ^_^
I love puzzle type games on the DS (I wish they would bring Droplitz over to it) and it's a shame Galactrix wasn't quite up to snuff. I imagine I'd enjoy Picross given my Sudoku obsession a while back. The World Ends With You was the last really awesome thing I played on the DS (and the last good RPG from SquareEnix I enjoyed really) though the whole multitasking gameplay was an evil mechanic. (Liked FFT:A2, but the plot just wasn't present enough to keep me interested.)
So far the only Japanese port I'm looking forward to trying is BlazBlue, so pickings are slim.
And I totally agree that FFTA2 basically doesn't have a plot. Both of the FFTA games have kind of been huge disappointment in that respect, really. I'm such a fan of the FFT team's writing that the Advanced stuff has just didn't do it for me.
Yay for enjoying The World Ends With You, though <3
I can still read and understand it fine, but when I go to speak it, my brain kind of seizes up, haha. Still, it's a pretty impressive...whatever the opposite of "accomplishment" is.
What’s the new language? Well, I’ll get even more tactless and ask all directly what languages you know/speak/understand/have learnt/etc. :)
And that's about it for me, language-wise. I have sort of survival-level knowledge of a couple of other languages, but that doesn't really count. Plus it seems like the countries I'd be surviving in with them are all populated with people who speak excellent English <3
Big-eared guys get everyone's engines going. Rowr!
Why, colour me interested. Pray tell? :0
It's funny because I mainly consider myself a writer and I usually make a living off of graphic design so I guess we're opposites that way
And really, I think it's more fun doing both -- I think I'd be bored with just one or the other.
I find it kinda motivating to see people like you within the fandom.
and if you really like it, keep going with the guitar, I love music, but I never quite got the hang of it myself. I can read and write sheet music, but reading and playing it just never clicked for me.
And yeah, I'm totally going to keep going with the guitar. Even if the end result is that I have a lot of fun sucking at the guitar, that's still a win in my book <3
Stop making me think! D:<
It's kind of lame that hyperlinks just show up as bolded text on FA. Blue underlined text is pretty garish, but at least it's unambiguous that you're supposed to click on it ^_^
I've just had to accept the fact that knowing how to play a guitar that has one string and five frets just doesn't much help me play a six-stringed, eighteen-fretted one. It's a worthwhile challenge, though, and a fun way to spend time even if you suck.
Although the difference is that you could now actually play that song on a four-piece drum kit now. I couldn't even play the tracks I've gold-starred on a one-stringed, five-fretted guitar (hell, you can't even play Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star with five notes.)
