Random musing

Just thought I'd update my journal with a random musing about World of Warcraft.
It's a fun MMO, yes, but I, personally, think it may have been better as a single player. I'm basing this on the Death Knight quests, especially; more than any other quest, it feels like you, personally, are changing the status quo. Groups are never really needed, its fun, interesting, and never really boring. On the other hand, the main game gets *very* dull and repetitive at times; I'm referring especially to, say, saving money for your Epic Flying skill, or levelling a tradeskill.
It would make, say, killing one of the more famous figures from the 'verse (The faction leaders, Arthas, Illidan, etc.) more satisfying...as it is, it's impossible for a single player to become anywhere NEAR as powerful as these characters. The faction leaders, in particular, should be soloable; they are, after all, just strong members of their respective races, without help from other major entities (like the Skull of Gul'Dan for Illidan, the Lich King for Arthas). There's no real reason that a player character should be unable to become as strong as them, especially considering the achievements of a typical level 80.
Of course, they'd also be able to make the graphics better, make the game run faster, etc, but those are really minor concerns.

eh, I think it's fine the way it is. I enjoy the social aspect. The DK questline WAS quite well done though.

This is more of what they're trying for Diablo III, I believe. A specific dungeon crawler with more class quests and an epic storyline that you usually complete on your own. :>
