Boy, has a lot gone on since my last journal.
So, first: ANE was a success! Blade and I smashed our numbers from dealing last year by quite the margin and we're both excited about it. There's no greater feeling that finding you're packing up less stuff to take home than what you brought with you to begin with. ANE saw the debut of Senlin, who was just such a surprise and it made my whole weekend to finally have that suit in my arms, and I can't thank
enough for that. It was great to see so many folks I don't get to see often enough, meet some new friends, and it was great chatting with folks who would stop at our table and check in with me (thank you so much for that! Especially to the one who shall not be named who left me quite the gift....Nisha!Rick thanks you from the bottom of her liver lol)
On the home front, there's been nothing since the break in. I got a police report in the mail a few weeks back, but it states the case is closed. Nothing has been recovered, I've been searching pawn shops, LetGo, Craigslist, everywhere. I doubt anything is going to be done at this point, especially with how long it took a crew to actually come to the place after the initial call.
I'd like to thank everyone who contributed to the GoFundMe I posted. I was shocked that it not only got fully funded but somebody kept throwing money after it after it was fully funded. I've had people coming out of the woodwork to help me this past month, and it was humbling. It says a number about this fandom, this community as a whole. It also not so subtly reminded me that you guys actually do care about me despite all the mud flung at my face these last two years. I've been chipping away at gift art for those who contributed, but all of you have my gratitude.
On that note, some other exciting news: Blade and I are getting a new home together! Right before ANE I found a gorgeous 2 bedroom home in a split level house by a stable, in a much quieter area away from the city, and two weeks ago we signed for the place together using the money from the GoFundMe. This Friday I get the keys, and I'll be fully moved in Easter weekend, then Blade will join me afterward. We're so excited to start this next chapter of our lives together - and to get the peace of mind that had been stolen from me back. Plus I'll have my own studio space lol, can't get enough of that.
Because of the move updates might be slow between packing and then transferring internet from this place to the new one. I just can't wait to be myself again.

FA+

Or use Product Registration - in case you locate any of them, you have a strong case that they are, in fact, yours.
If not, I do encourage you (and everyone else) to start.
I'm sorry to hear there was no progress, though I'm not surprised. The last place I lived was a duplex and the woman on the other side got burgled (got careless and left a groundfloor window unsecure so her cat could sit on the ledge). Cops pretty much said there wasn't much they could (or would) do. I'm cynical enough to think that break-ins aren't as "glamorous" as murders and not as money-generating as traffic violations.
But that's in the past.
Going forward I would recommend:
a)making a list of any electronics you buy
b)buying an empty PS3 case and fill it with C-4 and a remote detonator. So if you're robbed again you can put on sunglasses, affect a deep voice and say to the cops, "I can tell you exactly where the crooks are." *click* "The nearest hospital."
Mic-dropping the detonator is optional, but definitely badass.
A friend advised maybe going for negligence, since it took them two days to even come to the house to start the investiagtion and I kept being told conflicting information
Google shows a lot of results for "Can MS track a stolen XBox" so even if the thieves keep it for themselves, there do seem to be ways for MS to track or block them.
I am not surprised, cops rarely ever do the job they're supposed to. I rather see them like HR for a big corporation. HR is there to protect the company, not the employees. So cops are there to protect the State, not the citizens.
But enough soap-boxing.
I hope your new place has some good security. Oh, did you, or do you, have renter's insurance?
Ben and I had it cause our last apartment required it.
I was going to try seeing if MS could track the console but it's honestly slipped my mind.
I was also thinking of trying to pin the police with negligence based on how long it's taken things, and how long it took them to even come out to the place.
