Looks good! HP is kind of a hit or miss, but that looks like a super good deal. 12 gigs of RAM and if it suits your needs, no need for the MX150 GPU. I elected to go for the Acer Aspire E15 because the resale would be a bit better than a laptop without a dGPU should you want to make up the cost partially later on.

You have a point any other selection by chance?

What's your price range, 600-750? I'd recommend using a forum like Hardwareswap. IF you want to buy new, go with either the color you'd like on the HP or the Acer Aspire E15+nVidia MX150 with the 8000 series CPU. It's a 4-core/8-thread processor. Celerons are too slow / most likely just 2 cores/2 threads, and the 7100 is a 2-core/4 core/4 thread CPU.

You get a lot more for your money with the 8th gen, because it's intel's response to AMD's Zen architecture launch - they were previously confident that they're ahead, but now that AMD can compete handily in all price segments on the CPU side, intel had to actually release a competitive product stack in response.

Might want to put it in simple terms for me kind of not much laptop savvy.

You'll notice the 8250u is a far more capable and efficient CPU with double the performance dual core vs quad core, which translates to much longer battery life / time between charges.

Lost both my PC and my Laptop this year within a month of the other. Recently bought myself a new one for a little over $1100, but there's no SD slots of CD drives on it. Very compact and high performance though!
