GOFUNDME: Nedoiko's Escape from Venezuela

Hey guys. There's a GoFundMe that I'd like you to consider donating to.
is a good friend of mine, a precious cinnamon roll of an artist who draws nice stuff.
Problem is, he lives in Venezuela, a country that has been suffering from myriad Human Rights Atrocities, inflation and poverty on a staggering scale, and crime so rampant that literally ANY non-Venezuelan is kidnapped and murdered upon entering the country. Hospitals LITERALLY have no medicine, children are collapsing in classrooms from malnutrition, and criminals and violence gangs own the country, with absolutely no law enforcement or government officials willing to do anything about it.
Nedo and his BF
have finally managed to come up with a plan to get him out of Venezuela, and basically, it involves using a "vacation" excuse for them to meet and legally marry, and thus make Nedo into a US citizen. EVERY other method has been exhausted, and this is the last ditch effort to get our friend to safety.

This is such a load of BS it's not even funny. I understand it's a generally shitty place to live and he wants to get out, but there is no need to outright lie and smear an entire country and its population's reputation. It impacts your credibility and makes you, at best, look like a gullible sucker that believes everything the media feeds them, or at worst, makes you look like a raving lunatic. Neither is going to win you any points.
I just wanted to leave this little comment, although it may seem an exaggeration, the nightmare is very real and gets worse and worse, medicines are very difficult to obtain, crime continues to increase, and eating properly requires a lot of effort and luck, that is the reality of all Venezuelans. I can say that I've been very lucky, I've found a way to help myself and my family, and I still find reasons to smile, but it's getting harder.
Actually I never wanted to talk about this in FA, and I maintain it, but I felt the need to show my support on this occasion, I'm glad to see that there are some who care about the situation in my country, I hope your friend succeeds in completing his plan! By the way! I admire your work and also the work of Nedoiko, keep doing amazing things!
I know people thing we're always exaggerating, it sucks. They haven't lived what we have so its easy to criticize. I managed to get out of the country before it became almost impossible but my parents are still there. I always try and support any panas I find online. I know who difficult it is to get out and leave everything and everyone behind. I was lucky to win the green card lottery last year so I got my work permit and i'm living in the US.

... kinda makes sense, to be honest. It is LITERALLY the highest-paying non-crime job in that country.
