I just saw a bit ago that former Marine gunnery sergeant and long time actor R. Lee Ermey has passed away from complications of pneumonia at age 74, best known for his no holds barred performance as Sergeant Hartman in Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket. He was also in many other appearances in films and on television series including Space Above and Beyond, as well as work for The History Channel and Military Channel plus quite a few voice over roles in numerous animated works.

Rest in peace and Semper Fei, old soldier. Your service to your country as well as stirring film and television work will never be forgotten.
