If you like Gundam, you need to see Neon Genesis Evangelion. Truly fantastic anime.

Unfortunately, I disliked that one so much it is exactly the reason why I never wanted to give shows like Gundam a shot. XD

Really? Mind if I ask what turned you off of it?

Maybe is a cultural barrier, but far too many times it seemed like it was trying to act deep which often had me sighing an rolling my eyes a bit. Felt a little forced to me. I can't really recall any characters I honestly cared about, which for a story gave me no incentive to be invested in and just found it dull. It all kinda culminated into just saying No to the whole of it in the end.
