A Note On "Make It Bigger" & Complex Commissions
7 years ago
Hey!
So I wanted to make a little note here on what sort of commissions I'll be taking in the future, more noteably hypermuscle stuff.
-A NOTE ON MUSCLE FETISH STUFF-
Recently when I've been getting anything through relating to muscle fetish-themed commissions there's a recurring theme of "can you do it like your last one but bigger", and I'm reaching the end of what I'm happy drawing. I keep finding myself stretching my anatomical limits, and puns aside it's becoming more of a chore than something fun to do at this point.
I feel I have to draw a line in the sand now and say that I'm not going to be drawing any bigger than what I've been doing recently; that is to say this size for example is my limit. Muscle growth and hugeness are my thing, but I'm not going to get in to the territory of pin-heads-on-boulders.
That's all I really have to say on the issue, there's people'll who'll go bigger than me, and who knows I may stretch my anatomy in the future again but for now I'm happy calling that my ceiling!
-A NOTE ON COMPLEX/SEQUENCE COMMISSIONS-
One thing the past few years have taught me is I REALLY don't deal well with complicated commissions: that is to say a hella lot of armor/background detail on multiple characters, and very long sequences. In light of this, to keep up with efficiency, my own happiness with my work, and to keep giving you lot a good end result, I may start rejecting anything that I feel will take me too long to create a desirable result.
In the past I've been wanting to push myself on complexity and detail, but I keep finding myself underwhelmed with the end result.
More than anything, no huge sequences! I may restrict sequences to YCHs in the future too? We'll see...
-IN SUMMARY-
Not gonna go bigger hypermuscle wise than I currently have been, might start rejecting super complicated commissions (that's really subject dependent though, feel free to still give me your ideas!), probably won't be accepting big or multi-character sequences unless it's in an easier format like flat coloured or below.
More sharing this so you lot can get a clearer idea of what you'll get the best results out of me with!
You don't commissions a background artist to draw your angel OC in a manga style :V
[JUST AS A DISCLAIMER, THIS ISN'T AIMED AT ANYONE, I'VE ENJOYED ALL MY RECENT COMMISSIONS AND PEOPLE HAVE BEEN HIGHLY UNDERSTANDING OF MY WANT NOT TO KEEP GOING BIGGER ON HYPERMUSCLE AND NOT GET LOST IN GIANT PROJECTS]

I'm glad everyone's being so understanding ;;
You do you. Your art is so solid.
2) Yeah I get the power fetish aspect, shit it's my "thing" too! It's just for me, as an artist, I've reached a point where it's becoming grossly disproportionate for me and I want to stop - happy to keep drawing hulks, but I want some features in there other than a singular bicep that takes up a whole page haha~
Setting boundaries is always good; for me, personally, the whole power/strength aspect is only hot so long as one can, y'know. Move limbs. Actually use said strength. Anything beyond that, you might as well just circle back to fatfur-style immobility, as far as I'm concerned.
That said, come payday I'll note you about an idea, and it will basically be a pose/shape based off a reference of your art. Unless there's a preferred way to write you about such business.
Doing openings by journal atm! Art's more of a hobby than my business, RL comes first I'm afraid~
If the journal still seems to have a slot after the 3rd, I'll respond to it. Elsewise I'll just try and set aside the cash for the next announcement, be it a month later or longer.
Sure thing dude! I can't say when I'll next open but "watch this space" as they say
