I like cartoon animals. I find them and stories involving them let me escape reality for a moment and relax.

As for the fandom... The people. (Well some of them anyway. It's nice to make friends who share an interest.)

I really enjoy the community and the characters, I find them a lot more expressive than human characters.

It's also just nice to have an environment where I can be creative and express myself, as well as be surrounded by other creative people.

I'm a furry because I love the art, the fursuits and the creativity. I am really engaged with my fursona Silver Sheep and my fox character Braxton. Making original characters is something you don't see as much in Cosplay or other fandoms.

I'm in the fandom because I can express myself much more than with everyday people. I came out of the closet first to the furries. I feel like I don't have to hide my feelings and I can be who I really am. I must confess that furry erotica is what drew me in at first but since then I've made great friends and shared great memories. It's being a part of something that keeps me around the feeling of acceptance.

I got into furry admittedly through the adult side of it, but I quickly found out about the suits, 'sonas and art, and thought it was the coolest thing. I've always loved Disney and cartoons, so that likely contributed. And now I love the creativity that comes with it.

Why am I a member of the fandom? The people are awesome and I've made heaps of cool friends =D I really feel like I belong, like it's a massive family.

I'm a furry in part because I was introduced to the furry fandom after seeing how similar to the anime fandom it was, but also because of childhood experiences reading the Redwall series growing up and combining the creative fantasy aspect with the animals I love and care for.

Why am I a part of the fandom? To try and find a sense of place and community. I've had a mixed experience so far since I've remade my local furry group and invested two years into the group, but haven't gotten out as much as I've put in. There are some social insecurities I've had from growing up I hope to find a safe space within the fandom to explore and grow.
