Gillette Castle State Park Picnic Meet! 5/20 at 11am!

Where : Gillette Castle State Park
67 River Road
East Haddam, CT 06423
Time : 11:00am
Cost : none (besides picnic food lol)
We will meet up at the main paved parking lot around 11:00am, this is a large parking lot so there should hopefully be enough parking for everyone. There is a smaller gravel parking lot a short walk away if needed. There are multiple picnic areas around the park.....but there is a large one a short walking distance past the castle on the banks of the CT river by the boat launch. This is a large grassy area that will fit everyone who attends. Please bring your own packaged picnic lunch.....this could be sandwiches, salads, even if you want to grab McDonalds or Burger King or any fast food....I will not be providing any food and there will be no cooking or bbq's. There is a concession stand up by the parking lot also. Please also bring a blanket to sit on, and anything else you want. There is no alcohol permitted in the park....and if you are spotted with any alcohol you will be asked to dispose of it. Please feel free to bring any lawn games you have including frisbees, footballs, kites, etc. Around 2pm after the picnic area.....the real fun begins. We will throw on our fursuits and head to the castle grounds for some phots and fun. Although the castle will not be open to the public yet (open memorial day weekend).....we can still go up to the lower balcony and as well as the castle gardens and surrounding areas and ponds. And then whatever else after that.....it's a fairly large park area....but please don't stray to far from the group. There are bathrooms in the visitors center by the parking lot if you would like to use them to change into under armour.....suiting up will have to take place at our cars. Feel free to wear your tails and or ears to the picnic area though....or even if you're adventurous you can wear your suit either full or partial. It may be a tad warm this day so do this at your own risk and please stay hydrated. And most importantly.....have fun!
This is a public park so there will be tourists and regular people sharing the park with us.....I'm sure there will be tons of pictures taken and please please please behave and do not spook or scare the other park patrons. Be on your best behavior.....if anyone causes problems for anyone or is out of line....you may be asked to pack up and leave.
