Your prices are more than fair. I would say your full color, cell shaded pieces are fairly cheap. Unfortunately I can't really say what people will want and be willing to pay for. Much of the time I have trouble coming up with an idea unless I'm in the right mood. I'm not one for simple pin-ups or posing. I prefer to have a story, a reason, behind the picture.

I would love to commission you and other artists that I know need help but I'm already exceeding my limited budget as is.

Your words really got me into thinking. You said that you prefer when it's a story behind a drawing but... where are mine stories? Well, I mean, they may be, but my drawings are too simple for it to be seen.

Some pictures, such as the recent one you did with the coat & umbrella, are more about mood than story. There is really no reason for Aurelina to be dressed that way in the main stories I have for her. Yet it was still fun to see and help look forward to spring. It can be a lot of fun to just have something done to show her personality and playfulness. Trying to show that with a bust piece would be rather challenging.
I've always enjoyed RPGs for the ability to customize characters and get into a story. I look at commissions as a way to expand the story and re-live the experience. I tend to look at art and ask 'Why'. Why are they there? Why are they posed that way? Why are they showing that emotion? I want to know more, I want to know the story. Without the story it feels like I'm missing a part of the picture. That's me though. I have friends who don't care about history, story of the character. All that they want is something to look at.
