Crisis Update
Greetings folks, now that some time passed I thought on bringing a small update on how things are going over here.
Sadly, I don't have good news for you. There are protests happening in the whole country mostly due to the absurd increase of the fuel prices.
Truck drivers all over the country closed the roads in almost all the states so no goods (fuel, food, medications) are being supplied to the urban centers, including where I live.
Since we aren't being supplied for almost 6 days now things are starting to run out and the city is getting chaotic. I fear that if things don't change for better, soon we'll be fighting eachother here for food and water.
Because the lack of fuel the international airport that serves my area is closed with no reopening date. And most of the others are in the same situation.
Having that said, for those expecting packages from me I ask to be patient because delays most likely will happen.
For now I'll be closing the art sale I opened last weekend because I simply won't be able to deliver anything until this problem gets resolved. My appologies.
I don't know what tomorrow will bring but I'll try my best to keep you all posted and to keep drawing as well for as long as I can.
Hopefully after this storm passes I'll be able to start a new life in a better place.
Best wishes.

On Dilma's goverment there was a law to hold the fuel prices from going up absurdly. This had its cons to the country's economy but at least the transport would still run.
Now they took this law down and fuel prices are raising almost weekly making it hard for transport companies and drivers to survive.
So they stopped deliverying things in protest and closed roads to see if the goverment will finally hear their appeal.
Now other sectors of the economy are starting to participate so soon the only transport we'll have will be horses and bikes =P.
Thanks, I am doing my best to stay safe. Will try keeping you posted.
I sort of grew up in an activist friendly environment/culture (pacifist tho) but I ended up disagreeing with selfishness in protests and now avoid those people that think this sort of stuff helps. I have a strong thing against punishing the people (doing nothing wrong) for "awareness" or "to prove power/a point/pressure" I pretty much think all of this could be done while setting up a system to provide resources. Even if its old school donkey/horse/animal trains and manual pump pushers for the rails, of food, water and medical supplies.
Honestly the real way to hurt em is to just use pre fuel or electric only and snub the use while getting things done. When they see its not a hostage situation, then they have nothing on the table.
While I usually don't aggree with this kind of attitude sadly in Brazil it is the only thing that makes politicians listen to the needs of the population since they think we are just resources to be exploited.
The fat cats are raising the fuel prices at absurd rates so eventually all transport companies and independant drivers would go bankrupt if they don't do something about it.
Sadly we have to suffer from the lack of compromise the government here has but it will change one day. On the meantime, I prepare myself for the worse.
Hugs
Bunners
they will be cutting into their profit eventually as people simply can't afford to buy fuel anymore. but until then there might be riots and thefts.
I can't imagine what brasilia has to endure right now. this is plain brutal. why is everyone a greedy dictator anymore?
good luck!
Sadly after 15 days of closed roads, protests and several problems, those drivers only managed to reduce 60 cents on the price of the diesel for 60 days, so pretty much nothing changed. The people were expecting something bigger to happen but the fat cats managed to work it around to keep their interests.
Politicians, entrepreneurs and investors all hate Brazil and don't give a damn if the country is suffering, as long as they keep their pockets full of money by sucking every penny from the people it is ok for them.
Sadly this crisis is far from being over and I am just waiting to see what the next blow will be. I am having a look at New Zealand, thanks for the suggestion =).
Oh if I lived close to the coast I'd probably have a raft by now, but unless it is a flying one I think it would be pretty much useless to me XD, am possibly 400 miles away from the ocean I think.
Wealthy people here are usually show offs so they don't think this way, since justice is at their side they have nothing to worry about.
