A Fun Thing to Think About

In eternity, where there is no time, nothing can grow. Nothing can become. Nothing changes. So death created time to grow the things that it would kill and you are reborn but into the same life that you've always been born into.
I'd say it's fairly routine that I get to thinking about monsters and stuff. From folklore, movies, video games, books, you name it. But I think the funnest monsters are those from mythology and folklore, because a lot of times they were used to explain certain real life things. The Will o' the Wisp, for example, while not always malicious is an interesting example. Leading traveller's in the forest or swamp astray and to their deaths, or it did the opposite and guided those who were lost to safety. Of course a couple of my favorites comes directly from Native American folklore, one being Navajo. They are the Skinwalkers (Navajo) and the Wendigo.
Any such monsters and creatures that stick out in your minds? I'd love to maybe hear about some that I'm unfamiliar with.

Mystical dog like entities that can be either good or bad. Also the link doesn't mention in super detail but when the Cadejo makes a sound and it sounds far away it's because it's close and when it sounds close it's because it's far away, also keep in mind the setting always is deep in the jungles of central America in the dead of night!

Not that I'm biased of course.
