You need a PS1 BIOS file to make the emulator work

I did it myself a while back, it's a lot of trial and error and a little bit of luck to get it to work, but first and foremost, you need the BIOS file and link it to your emulator or it won't run.

I had the Bios, and set everything up the way they said in the tutorial video for ePSXe on Emuparadise. But once I tried starting a game, it instantly crashed. Trying to get the original spyro to work. Is there just a bundle somewhere I can download? :/

Not that I'm aware of. Some BIOS files don't play nice with some emulators though, too, I've found out. The other thing is the game too. Sometimes there are compatibility issues there too.

ShayShay is onto something too, their comment is a very strong possibility too.

Pay attention to carefully set the game emulator, if you're playing spyro 3 you could trigger the anti-hack codes, which would ruin your experience

I didn't think of that initially, and that's a really strong case as to why we have issues.

I don't think the antipiracy stuff is whats keeping me from playing. I think I set up the emulator wrong.

It's been a long while since I've emulated, so I'm a bit rusty on what to do. The best I can think of is trying from scratch again.

Use Bizhawk. It emulates all the systems.

retroArch is a great hub for your emulators, if you want to use an emulator, it gives you a ton of options, and automatically downloads the ones you pick. There's pretty good documentation for it out there, be sure that if you're doing PS1 emulation, that you match the BIOS to the right region. (a Japan BIOS will mean that your US Roms will not work, and vice versa. US has two types of BIOS, try both)

It was a huge pain to set up on my end, too, I don't really remember the exact details on how I did it, only parts of it.

IMO follow Dusks advice I use retroarch on my tablet and it's never failed to work for a little old school gaming, though I mostly use it for snes and dreamcast emulation I've seen it be used flawlessly for PS1 games and there are a ton of tutorials for it on youtube since it's quite popular.
