I'm working on my art more these days but if anyone has suggestions I'm open to them (read: not requests, don't ask me to draw your fursona please)

If I open up commissions, I'd definitely want to know what anyone's thoughts are on what is good to work toward first as someone who doesn't do them much; do you much prefer commission ideas/descriptions, or, YCH's, or, giving artist free reign on an idea including a character, situation, etc...
