The 'ask me anything' meme.
Taken from lots of people, I'll have a go at it. x)
I had the pleasure of meeting a lot of new furs on FA, since I first joined. We have either met irl throughout my travels or just stumbled upon one another online.
So I figured it be cool to make a MEME that would allow us to get to know each other better. If anything, I want to give anyone the opportunity to get to know me better and ask me any questions they might have if they like.
So the rules are simple:
1) You can ask me anything, so don't be shy :). I am an open book. You can either post your questions here in the comments or NOTE me on FA.
2) If you ask me a question, I might ask you one in return. Don't let that deter you. I don't bite ;)
So that's pretty much it ^ ^ *wags and waits cutely*

I can do a lot of lefty things, like play a left-handed bass (and pressing the frets with my right hand), throwing footballs with a nice spiral with my left hand, and other things like that. x)
To start, I don't know when I was given it (maybe when I was three or four), but I've had this foot-long wolf stuffed animal that I named 'Pokey', haha. Before RC cars and things like that that came later, it was my favorite toy. But even with those, I still had it sit at the top of my bed, and would sometimes sleep with it, lol. The existence of this stuffed animal sparked my initial interest in wolves and dogs and things. I'm not sure by in what way, but I know it was more than "Well, this is cuddley, the real thing must be really cuddley!", or something silly like that. x)
I don't know where Pokey is nowadays, maybe my mom has hidden him away so it she could give him back to me later, instead of in threads from being handled too much, haha.
Develop interest in canines, check!
Towards the end of kindergarten, we had a visitor come from a wildlife awareness organization (or it could've been the zoo, I wasn't super strong at English, and probably tuned him out, hehe). He brought a gray wolf with him, and after a few minutes, my teacher told us to form a line, and the person would walk along us, and we could pet it. That was really interesting, but it was even more fun when he let the wolf wander off-leash around the room. I was sitting towards the back, but I distinctly remember the animal looking around for a second after being let go, then walking up to me before anyone else (we had some snacks a little while before this visit, maybe I smelled like food or something, lol). I'm a pretty giggly person, so I probably was all smiles at that point, hehe. I'm pretty sure it didn't do any dog-like actions like lick my face or anything, but the main thing I remember is feeling the intelligence through its eyes. I also remember getting pretty close to its face to look at its eyes, in a similar fashion to looking through a peephole in a door, but my teacher yanked me away, haha.
Confirm wolves as favorite animal, check!
From that point on, I didn't have a super crazy attraction to wolves (like having wolf posters and toys everywhere), but I was definitely pretty interested in them, their behavior, and things like that. I no longer saw them as fuzzy, huggable creatures like Pokey, but neither as the horrible livestock-killers that most people around here see them as. I wanted to learn about and see them pretty often. Since I had developed an appreciation towards outdoors and wilderness early-on, too, needing to go on a trip to a national park to see wolves made the experience all the better, haha.
I was probably in about that stage until we moved to Idaho when I was in sixth grade. So much nice-looking scenery, lack of nasty, humid heat (we moved from Texas), and being really close to wolf spotting areas really has affected me. I use to always have my eyeballs glued to the TV or computer quite a bit, but the Idaho move soon made me quite an adventure/explorer-type person, haha. Not much to do with the fandom, but I thought I'd toss that in here, anyway. x)
Eh, some nonsense was said, check!
At the end of '03, we finally got high-speed internet, and I managed to find VCL from some sort of Google image search for a wolf image to include in an essay. Of course I browsed around when I got there, haha. I thought it was equally goofy and interesting to see these anthro animal characters doing human things. It was, like, cartoons taken to new levels, lol. I've never been the biggest fan of cartoons, but there was so much 'customization' and diversity in this little world. After I created my own wolf character, I couldn't help but be sucked even more into it, hehe.
Furry fandom is officially discovered, check!
If you asked me if I was a furry at the beginning of '04, I probably would've responded 'yes', haha. Most of what I was finding was clean in nature; even today, I know there're many more aspects to this fandom than yiffing, and is what I prefer to follow, haha.
Fandom is officially joined, check!
Last summer, I had some free cash, and I'd liked most of what DHC had been able to create up to that point, so I got with them, got a slot, and eventually a suit a few months later. My hypothesis about myself is that because I like stuffed animals a lot, and pretended they were alive sometimes, a fursuit is seen as something pretty similar, and isn't too weird. I have my own character, and get to pretend to be him, fun stuff!
Fursuit in possession, check!
So, that's probably about it, I was going to include a couple of other things, but my dumb phone can't really type much more, so I gotta terminate the transmission pretty soon, haha.
The TL;DR version is "A kid really interested in wolves found a furry site by accident, and thus, became a furry." x)
I don't mind seein' a lot of it, but a lot of mainstream furry stuff is going in such a different direction than when I found VCL. When I went to the main FA page a few minutes ago, seven of the eight latest submissions were sex-related, there's my proof. x)
By the way, I feel a tad bad for forgetting until now to thank you (or say anything at all) for watching me, but I did notice, and I'm happy that you like my suit and dog. Your suit is definitely in my top favorites, no doubt about that, haha. I also saw your dog in your gallery, she looks like such a sweetie, I'm sorry that you had to lose her. :(
