The Eight Truths Meme

It would seem I have been tagged bu
bootstrap to do the one thing I always feel a bit self-conscious about: talking solely about myself. I MUCH prefer to talk about my daughter and my son-in-law. I have a feeling I will be able to get away with sneaking in a lot of things about them, with a little luck. *^_^*
(1) I was told, when my husband and I were married, that due to certain physiological conditions it would be almost impossible for me to bear children. I wanted very, very much to be a mother, however, and I braved the odds. My daughter is my only child and my dearest treasure. (There! I have been lucky already.
^_^)
(2) My daughter and I remain very close. (As you can probably guess. ^_^) There has not been anything that we have not been able to talk about freely with each other. As soon as she was old enough to understand, she knew exactly where she came from. She once got in trouble at school for telling another student what I had taught her. Apparently the teacher felt the student was not quite ready for the facts. O_O
(3)My husband was in the Army, and our family was able to do a measure of traveling around the world when my daughter had finished her elementary school education. So much of the world has changed since then... I am glad I gained the experience at the time I did.
(4)Speaking of my husband... my family was against our getting married as early as we wanted to. I actually was making plans to elope with him. Fortunately, when my parents doscovered my plans and saw that we were serious, they changed their minds. :)
(5)When I myself was younger, my hair was extemely light. It was almost as though my hair made me seem older than I was - it looked as though I had gray hair.
(6)Speaking of my childhood... oddly enough, I often needed glasses to read when I was younger. I rarely need them to read, now - I often need them to focus on things farther away. O_O
(7)My daughter's favorite pet - or, rather, pets... since she has had several when she was younger - have always been mice. She had almost a dozen at one time. And it was initially difficult for me, because, initially...I was afraid of mice! *^_^* Eventually I got over that irrational fear. (I wonder where it comes from in the first place?)
(8)I have told my daughter and my son-in-law that I will no longer badger them about it - and I will keep that promise - but... I do want grandchildren. Very much. Very, very much. I guess I have not used up all of my maternal instincts yet. *^_^*
There! You now have eight true things about my life. I would never tag anyone, that would be against my nature. But if any of those on my friends list would like to take the plunge, I would be delighted! My friends and family - they are the joy in my life ^_^

Having had many life experiences, and travels throughout the world seems to have had quite a positive impact. Being able to move around quite often due to the Army life, did that expose you to significant amonts of different cultures? Would have been quite an amazing experience.
It still does stun me to an extent the leve with which you have been supportive of your child and child-in-law, at least with regards to the furry community. Really is astounding.
Anyway, have a lovely life, and I hope for many good experiences still to come for you.
