thing is, there's actually not much political ideology in the new films (within the films themselves). It's mostly self projection based on hatred and constructing conspiracy theories.

Here's a prime example: L3-37 (the name itself should indicate it's a joke). She was the droid in Solo that everyone claimed was shoving SJW down your throat.

Lord and Miller were originally on the team. With both Lego Movie and their Jump Street films they were very meta aware and relied heavily on that.
So with that lens ... you have the dramatic irony (in-world characters blind to it) of the absurdity of a droid fighting for droid rights. And while some of the timing fell flat, most of the jokes play to that strengths (and she did have some of the funnier instances of the film).

We've never chatted before ... ever ... and the first time you leave a comment you come out swinging. That's a huge red flag for an impending horrible discussion (judging from my past experience, it plays out poorly with the commentor doublign down, changing topics, going full tumblr-grade irrational, etc).

Star Wars films cost millions of dollars to make.
And several fans told me directly to boycott to end star wars films. So congrats to them for getting exactly what they wanted.

and I've stated before, this is new to me. Because growing up youngest of 6 rabid fans (with VHS tape marathons), we were the chillest fans about everything. So seeing the rabid toxicity of the vocal segment of the community is unnerving.

See I started to figure out about how the fan base when I was still a lad. Like some time after the phantom menace so I was probably 11 or 12. As time went on I eventually started to sit back and watch the fireworks fly.
