Here are my Frequently Asked Questions about commissions! Apologies if I don't answer your questions when they're listed here. All other questions or concerns feel free to contact me any time BEFORE commission openings in case I don't go through them until after they close.
These answers are general and not strict. May change as circumstances changes. These are NOT the same as "Terms of Service", rules of which you must abide by upon commissioning me.
Commissions are taken roughly around the end of each month through a Google Form. An announcement for the exact time for the opening and will be made at least 24 hours prior at this dedicated Twitter account. There may be times where I skip openings so check for exceptions if any.
- Are you currently open?
If the form is open and accepting submissions, then yes and not if closed. It may reopen later if any pending slots drop out or queue was finished early.
- Can I get a commission?/ How do I request a commission?
Wait for when commissions open to fill out the form. Then wait up to 48 hours for a reply to see if you get accepted. I reserve my right to decline any request.
- Can I reserve a slot before opening?
For fairness, I only accept those who submitted a form during openings. I cannot hold you a slot if you don't have your info ready. Please plan accordingly and try again next time.
- Are these first come first served?
Slots are not fcfs for scheduling and planning purposes, but sending a request as soon forms open is recommended as they may close early with enough entries.
- Can I submit more than one request at a time?
You may but if only allowing me to pick one please keep the number of requests down to a few as I don't want to spend too much time deciding.
- I missed the opening, can I submit a late submission?
That wouldn't be fair to others wanting a slot. I cannot hold your spot if you don't have your info ready at the time of opening. Please plan accordingly and try again next time.
- My request wasn't accepted last/this time can I reapply again next time?
Absolutely! It is very encouraged to try again when you get the chance. Please do not take it personally or get discouraged if you didn't get a slot. There are many good requests that don't get in their first try but do another time.
If it's more intricate than a basic image and may require more time to complete then it will be considered complex. Contributing factors can be the character's design, outfits, extra appendages, scales/markings, muscular structure, props/accessories, composition, etc. I'll decide if something is considered complex or not and charge accordingly.
- What's the difference btwn refined sketch and rendered?
Generally, refined sketches are lined and shaded quickly whereas rendered have them done more cleanly and detailed. Rendered images will also have more technical and anatomical corrections than refined sketches. Complexity fee can still apply to either type.
- Do you have other types of commission than what's offered?
Ask for a quote at anytime. But know just because I gave a quote doesn't mean I'll accept it next opening and prices may change since.
- Can you take NSFW?
No, it can be in artistic nudity but nothing overly sexual.
- I don't have SFW refs, can I send you NSFW images as references?
Yea, I don't mind as long it's not excessive and relevant to the details of your commission.
When accepted, preferably soon due to limited number of slots and if you want to placed higher in the queue. No work will begin without payment first. Late or non-payment will result in your slot being skipped or cancelled and you may be barred from future commission openings. Do not send any unsolicited payments directly without prior approval.
- How long are your turnaround times?
Depends on the image and your place in the queue, it could take from 2 days to 2 months. Although I mostly aim to complete them within the same month and order taken, monthly commissions are not guaranteed to be completed within that same month. Any due date expectations must be discussed prior to having your commission accepted.
- Do you have other forms of contact?
FA notes, e-mail, twitter and telegram are my only forms of contact. Long form messaging is preferred as details can be easily lost in instant messages. If I have you on IMs, please only use it for your commission and not for casual chatting. Also don't expect a reply right away, I don't always get notifications instantly for DMs or emails that accidentally get filtered.
- Are there any updates to my commission?/Where can I find updates of my commission?
You may find the current stage of your image on my Trello under "Current Queue." Any updates that needs your approval will be messaged to you. If your slot doesn't have any image attached that either means the sketch is not ready or I haven't started on yours yet.
- When do you post finished commissions?
Usually as soon as the final art is approved to my gallery sites. Social Media posts may be staggered. You will be tagged on the main twitter post if your handle is easily found. If you don't want be tagged or want to be tagged in a reply instead, please let me know ahead of time! If you get too many notifications you can always mute the tweet. You may post your commission whenever as you please, just don't forget to credit and tag me so I can retweet it!
- Can I upload my high-res, unwatermarked copy?
Although not recommended, you may upload any version of your commission if you wish. It's preferred you upload your lower quality, watermarked copy to deter art theft by bad actors and AI Technology.
