I usually try to save files with the artist name included in the file name for that reason. It helps a bit, but then my mind sometimes slips and I forget to do that too! D:

Or the artist changes their name or changes accounts and you still can't find them! It drives me insane! Especially since I can't go back and refer to their rules if I don't know who did it!

Oh gosh. And especially if they deactivate the old account or wipe it so that there is no way to even trace them to the new one in the first place! ;w;

I really do prefer toyhouse for trading/selling characters for that reason. Transfers on there go so much more smoothly!

I've had some artists I've bought commissions from delete their upload of those commission, which I a) don't understand and b) generally don't like. When I buy a commission, I will upload a copy to my gallery but generally try to encourage folk whom find my upload of art an actual artist drew to +like it on the artist's original upload, as all the credit for the talent should go to the artist whom actually poured their hArt & soul into drawing it for me. All I did was fling shinies.
