ArtFight!

ArtFight starts July 1st!
For those who don't know, ArtFight is a fun competition where artists get sorted into two different teams, then draw art for the other team to win points for their team. Essentially, it's a month of competitive art trades where you give art of other folks' characters and get art of your own characters in return!

I'm cleaning up a few more things to get my page ready for this year, but I'm really excited for it this time around!

FA+

Making your account, setting up characters, setting up your profile?
If your issue is you can't figure out how to join a team, don't worry, teams aren't open yet!
When the event starts on the first, you'll be able to be sorted into a team then, until that point everyone with accounts already are still just listed as the team from last year.
Or you can just click
https://artfight.net/submit/character
I'll just do a quick rundown of everything there is to do because there's a few things to fill in that can be confusing at first.
Name and Description
Pretty standard, you list the character's name and anything you feel is important to note in the description. This can be their personality, other characters they may know, etc.
Permissions
So there's two sets of permissions on the site, Global User Permissions and each chatacter's individual permissions.
Global permissions isn't listed on this page, I'll come back to finding that and setting it up.
Permissions are for telling people if there is something you never want to see drawn for your characters, such as ruling out gore, nudity, body horror, etc.
Basically, global permissions are for all characters, anything you never want to see or USUALLY don't want to see with most characters, etc. Up to you how you use it, because you can have each character have individual permissions.
Credits
Simple Yes and No checkboxes, if you didn't create a character they ask you to link to whoever did.
Additional Credits box is for (as far as I'm aware) if the character is a fan-character, you would list whatever the original content was like Harry Potter or Steven Universe, and such.
Main Image
You'll get to upload more images after, don't worry! This is just the first one you upload to go with the character.
Main image is where you upload it, thumbnail is if you want to crop it in a specific way.
There are credits here too, just click yes if you drew it, no and a link to the artist if you didn't. etc.
There's also a mature content checkbox. If you click it it gives you a few options to properly mark it such as gore, nudity, etc.
I would take a moment to look over the rules for mature content, because they're short but important and differ from other sites a little.
https://artfight.net/info/guide-maturity
Fill all that in and you're done!
Hit submit and your character is live on the site!
This is getting kinda long so I'll make another comment explaining the other stuff.
At the top on the right, there's a dropdown button right by your username and icon. Hitting Manage Characters will get you to a page where you have a couple of options.
Here's a screenshot of mine for reference

Each character is listed and underneath is a Hide and Edit button, as well as a place to number them to reorder the list.
The ordering is sort of... counter intuitive in my opinion. It doesn't go from 1 up, it orders with the highest number first.
People on the site tend to order the first six that appear on their profile as the ones they want most art of, so keep that in mind if you post several characters. Keep your front row the ones most important to you.
Hide lets you make the character only viewable to yourself. You can do this if you're not done working on their profile, if you don't want art of them at the time, etc. You can click unhide at any time to bring them back into view for everyone else.
This is a better option than just deleting a character, because when you're on a character page you can see what others have drawn for the character. Deleting them you lose that ability to quickly see everything.
Finally there's the Edit button, which brings you to another page for editing your character.
Here's a screenshot to follow along:

There's three different tabs to work with, the Character Info tab is what you saw before. You can edit the description, permissions, etc.
Credits has it's own tab not part of Character Info.
Same stuff as when creating the character.
Images is where you'll upload more references for your character.
Something important to note, you can only upload six images for the character!
You can also link to a gallery of them in the character description if you have more you want people to see, but your top six should be on display.
Anyway, uploading more images is just the same process as the first one you upload when you create the character.
This page also lets you choose which image people see first when they click on the character, and what thumbnail displays on your page of them.
Anyway, lastly because I mentioned it,
You can either click the dropdown at the top and select Settings, or go to your profile and click Edit if you want to change Global Permissions. There's a couple tabs there you can click through if you wanna check things out and edit your settings too.
