Token journal for posterity
Hey everyone/anyone! Figured I'd make a journal to A) actually have an entry and B) render some kind of introduction.
So I've been on FA in a lurking capacity for a long, long time. Like over a decade kind of long. While I'd be fine with and even capable of lurking for another several years I find that maybe it's about time I participate more! In the amount of said time lurking I've created numerous OCs (usually in a fugue of maladaptive daydreaming) but have just kinda let them accumulate...and in some cases some are even forgotten. That said my artistic ability's terrible and underused, and if I'd spent as much time developing that skill as lurking then maybe I'd be an artist worth actually submitting content on FA.
Despite this I still want to see some of my ideas and characters come to life even if it's not through my own means, and the best way to go about this is of course monetizing/commissioning other artists. It's something I've never really done before and I'm looking forward to it in equal parts excitement and dread. I have an eponymously named OC all but demanding to exist but it might be a little rough getting him created without previous refs; hopefully in time everyone'll get to see him. I know I can't wait myself!

You've definitely come a long way. Love all the work you've gotten so far. That Warpjaw concept is pretty darn cool. Glad you were able to get it out there and have him come to life. Also, yes, I love writing. I'm not so good though since I've learned most it myself. You seem quite well at it from what I've read on your characters. Still, I try my best.
I've had Kaage (or myself as I like to think of him) for the longest now in writing. He never truly had a set design so I kind of just grabbed that one from Amarian since it seemed like it'd fit well. Hopefully I can get a lot of cool stuff from fellow artists. Got a few pieces already but hoarding them for a bit. :3
Anyhow, I'll stop it here. Hope this year goes even better for you than the last. I'll surely be trying my best as well. 💜
It's actually great that you responded to this entry as it's been a good half year or so since I wrote it, and you're right in that I've come quite a way! Reading the above I remember feeling super excited and super anxious about getting Bruve created, and that I might not be able to visually portray him the way I envisioned him in my mind. Thankfully that wasn't the case! Quite the opposite! I think he came out leaps and bounds better than I could have imagined~
And yeah that adopt looks great! Waiting for the right adopt that fits your perceived sona cuts down on the headache of it all, though in my case I decided to be extra and basically create a new species from the ground up. As for writing I like doing it, yeah, but I still compare myself to others and still fret over not being good enough. That's just kinda how it goes! Similar to how late I jumped into the fandom, I wound up getting a late start on my writing too--I'd say just go for it and write things down, anything and everything. Put your writing out there even if you feel it might not be that great! I'd personally love to read some of what you create, and I also look forward to some of the art you plan on commissioning~
Thank you so much for the reply by the way and YEAH! Let's make the most out of this year <3
He did come out well indeed. Such a wonderful mix of floof and scales. :3
Thanks for the encouraging words. I'm still not to keen on sharing my old work but I'll definitely look into writing tidbits on some of the artwork I decide to put up (like I've seen you done, which is excellent by the way). Maybe then, after I feel more self-secure, I'll put more writing out there.
It better be an excellent year! Good start thus far. 💜
Anyhow, thanks again, Bru! Keep doing what you do, as well as being a cool warpy-boii.
