As a canine connoisseur I do favor knots, and the tapered tip of a canine length. However, ridges and stuff are also quite exciting and make for a little more exotic feel. Equine does fit the large and powerful build of Scott however, but then again just about anything could fit really. Right now, he's huge, but it works for him. It looks natural enough to not be distracting. Changing the shape to something else may detract from that, either by making the size more uncertain, or seeming out of place.
