A plot for Kee

So I'm planning on doing a story for Kee, and I got two plans I'm debating running with.
1. Kee is a vagrant thief on an outcast but bustling space station the size of a small moon where cultures clash violently often resulting in disarray outside of the patches of courtesy respect and peace. Kee has no immediate involvement until he discovers something about himself from a cultural collective of often humanoid and sometimes demonic creatures known as 'spirits' or in their old language 'yokai' of which he is a descendant. After which he is repeatedly beguiled by the cultural heritage of their backgrounds but pushes them aside in order to engage in the diversity that surrounds him now.
Very heavy on story and character building but doesn't relax in terms of giving Kee the kind of accidental lewdishness I like to play with.
2. Kee is a basically a roaming housecat esque deviant with a stealing streak on his name, one he gets around by being affectionate, playful and often downright dirty. The only reason he can even get away with half the things he does is the old feline adage 'cats have nine lives' of which he seems to be pushing more and more to the point that no one's really sure how many he has left.
Played in a sci-fi futuresque universe with a bit of science bullshittery involving cloning, this story is far more open and downright episodic, but kinda bullshit's it's way through Kee's backstory to almost overpower levels.
Any opinions or ideas you'd prefer? I'm kinda open to thoughts at the moment.
