Big life updates, and a back injury?
Guys, where do I even start?
A couple weeks ago I sent an email out to a school out of state to go back to school for something I've been wanting to do my entire life. I ended up getting a call the following week, they set up a virtual tour with me, and talked to me about the majority of it all, he told me there were still spots open for the fall, and I told him to go ahead and send me the application for the fall. So I got my transcripts in, and I filled out the application, just waiting to hear back if I'm gonna be accepted or not. He sounded like I had nothing to worry about and I know my grades are just fine. The only thing I worry about is in college I failed one class that wasn't my fault, so me and my anxiety is shaken over it.
So I'm trying to put a list together of things I need to do before september and it's just so much you guys.
So that exciting news aside, I have potentially injured my back? For those who don't know I work in nursing, at a long term care facility (So like basically a nursing home, but we do get young patients too. It's just for people who like come in from surgery and need more specialized care than they can do for themselves or their family can do for them)
So I'm constantly lifting, bending, squatting, moving, and on my feet 8-16 hours of any given day. It's worn down my body all over, I've been noticing my ankles swelling up a lot, and I've been in quite a bit of pain here and there. This morning I woke up to my alarm, and when I went to get out of bed it felt like someone kicked me in my sternum as hard as possible and knocked the wind out of me. I was so confused then I felt this horrible radiating pain in my back from about just under my shoulder blade, all the way down my spine. So, I had to call in, I really didn't want to, but I was SO sure I was going to have to go to the hospital. I immediately started looking at my health insurance coverage, and couldn't find much on coverage for a trip there. So I need to make arrangements to see my doctor about it to see if they want me to get some radiology done.
I'm managing it atm with some Advil, but who knows how long it's gonna last.
Anyway, that's about it for now
Take care !
