I have a metaphorical white whale that at this point in time has evaded me for several years. There is a book out there, somewhere in the world, that I read once and fell in love with. Alas, the title and author elude my memory. If anyone knows the title of it: PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THATS HOLY PUT ME OUT OF MY MISERY AND TELL ME THE TITLE. I've done countless internet,library catalogue, and bookshop searches for the cover and description for it to jog my memories.

From what I remember its about a villager who wants to fight against these invaders but his brother doesn't want to . He ends up getting cursed with immortality and his brother ends up being called a prophet and this whole cult rises in his name. Meanwhile this villager ends up in slavery tossed in a mountain with demons who he later befriends and breaks out letting them loose. He then goes on to be a stage hand for this aspiring playwright and ends up learning theatricality and dubbing himself demon king only to build a castle in some mountains (in reality he just wants to be left alone with his buddies). He "kidnaps" this high priestess from his brothers cult to stop the cult from trying to assassinate him. She ends up learning the truth from him about who he really is. The book has a good ending and that's about all I can remember.
