Going to do my best to shorten the script enough so that it's an abridged version and still keeping things detailed enough to get the point across for folks so it can be read and understood but not complete word upchuck.
Obviously, these are the spoilers for Chapters 8-10 of Chemical Attraction and a slight bit of Project Sorrow because the comic ends on an epilogue/Project Sorrow's Prequel.
Where the last page left off, Talon is able to tell the other wolves the secret of his family's pack and the location of the campground and his cave. The blue wolf, which is Church before he dies and reincarnates, is allowing the werewolves to escape because fighting them all is a hassle, and while he could do it easily, he doesn't want to exert the energy.
At this news, Aurum is visibly upset and starts attacking the wolves, who take that time to flee and evade his attacks (giant, spiky rocks he can form from his horns and chip off, essentially making lava that hyper cools). At this point, Talon is also doing his best to shield the wolves enough so they can escape and, seeing this, Vincent decides to leave and do other things without penalty.
"Church" decides that this is a great time to tire Talon out and uses his own abilities against him, able to conjure up the shadowy 'branches' Talon could in earlier chapters, the influence of Chitsume for Talon but the actual power for Church. Being able to understand what they are, Talon is able to find their projectory and come out of the fight relatively beat up but not grievously so. However, Teresa sees that this is going on and enters the room, binding them all with her magic and banishing Aurum.
She decides that with Church's betrayal to delete her contract and, because of this, Church's eyes start to bleed a thick, inky substance that stains his fur like a cheetah's 'teardrops'. This has remained in his design and follows him to reincarnation. All broken hellhounds bear this eye marking, as a sign they screwed up. Because Talon was as wounded as he was, he was unable to break the binding and instead was wheeled away to the 'kennel'.
The Kennel is a large castle-like building underground, built in such a way that there are barred windows to the outside and covered in a thick layer of glass that was used in Chapter 3 to offset the moon's currents. Talon is shackled by the neck and wrists and left in nothing but a pair of large sweatpants. Inside the kennel he meets Naela, a Feralis, essentially a sentient sabertooth-tiger mutant. She claims she has been there for months and that they won't let him leave. She claims Teresa killed her mate and taxidermied his head, which hangs above her chair in her room. Talon says he'll try and rescue her but is unsuccessful since he can hardly move and is still injured.
Teresa comes to Talon and tells him that while he's being tortured by her, he'll be tortured by three hellhounds. When asked how she can have so many, Teresa drops her dress robe and shows her body, covered from her neck downwards in contract marks. Talon grimaces, tells her she's become a Stamped One, and teresa says she'll do anything to get what she wants and paying hellhounds is a simple feat.
At the same time, the werewolves end up finding the campground and are accepted by Kiba and Koto. However, Kiba is unable to rescue Talon as the lab has been abandoned and he can't find his son's scent. Meanwhile, Rowena is taken under Koto's wing and he teaches her how to fight while the rest of the wolves settle and intermingle with their own kind again. There are wolf packs that constantly search for the lab but they cannot find Talon inside.
A few days pass and teresa returns to the Kennel and offers Talon some food in the shape of a chunk of human meat. Talon, having not eaten in days, is desperate for the food but Chitsume pulls him away from it and makes sure he doesn't eat it. Teresa leaves. Talon drinks rainwater from the cell's window and takes to minor cannibalism, eating a chunk of his own flesh a day and regrowing it overnight. Naela offers to share her food, which is usually a rabbit or mouse, enough to keep her starved but Talon refuses.
Nanaki and Darm come to visit and while Talon and Nanaki don't reconcile, he tells her that he still cares about her and he wishes he could have saved her back then. Nanaki apologizes for betraying him and hopes he understands one day. He forgives her. Darm, however, is another story.
Darm tells Talon that he never called Nanaki that day they were asked to have sex and tells him it was Paradox under his disguise, being held essentially at gunpoint to do so. Darm claims teresa was desperate to find something to not only kill Talon, but something strong enough to defeat Chitsume so she could watch him fall in the future. This comes at the knowledge of Gluttony. Talon tells Darm Gluttony is safe at the campground and gives him the coordinations. Darm tells Talon not to eat the food and that teresa is planning on tortuing him slowly over time until Chitsume is strong enough to awaken. This process can be sped with human blood and Talon knows this, telling Darm he'll refuse.
Darm returns to teresa, as promised, and she says he's allowed to see his sister again. However, Aurum comes back, instead, with a piebal naga skin and Darm goes crazy, attacking Teresa in a fit of anger and getting thoroughly handed by Aurum, since Darm can't really use his naga form and his rage let him not pay full attention. Teresa claims his sister's been dead since a few months ago and that he was her puppet since then. In a fit of anger, Darm runs out and finds the camp.
Eventually, Darm makes his way to the campground again and tells Kiba where Talon is, explains the situation. Koto cannot see anything bad in the future; he can't see anything at all. Kiba tells the wolves to prepare for battle in the coming days and weeks. Gluttony is integrated into the wolf pack and is trained how to hunt and behave like a wolf. He still cannot speak but can howl, unlike Talon.
Over the days, Talon is tortured. An experiment here, a surgery there, essentially chipping away at his body and then dumping him back into his cage where he's offered a fresh piece of meat. He sometimes eats it and immediately vomits it back up, or gives it to Naela. Talon has, at this point, lost some weight and musculature, and weighs around 180 pounds.
When the full moons come, he is unable to shift. His body is so weak and the glass is absorbing most of the moon beams that he cannot physically change and simply screams and writhes for hours until he collapses. His body tries to initiate the shift and bones and organs can be seen moving around but he never transforms much at all. After a few weeks of this, Talon goes catatonic. He does not speak anymore and seemingly forgets how to speak English. He only speaks in growls, grunts, and some broken Japanese if he decides to use words.
Teresa returns with a human arm one day and tells Talon to eat, who refuses thanks to Chitsume. Chitsume is telling Talon not to eat, despite Talon's mouth literally overflowing with saliva and his body screaming at him to eat it. Eventually, Teresa goes to give up and Talon lunges with a half-transformed mouth, sharp teeth and gnarled jaw digging into HER right arm and tearing it from the elbow. Talon wastes no time eating it in front of her in a crazed frenzy and she cauterizes it with magic. This is her last straw and she pulls Talon out of the cage with Aurum's help.
At the same time, Koto ends up doubled over on the floor, screaming in agony from a migraine splitting his head open. He's never had a vision so strong and he can't see or breathe. Darm, unsure what to do, rushes to get Kiba, but all Koto can manage is the words that essentially told his dad Chitsume is coming back. At this news. Kiba rallies the wolves, from his pack and the lab. Some wolves go off to get other wolves, other help, like Lily, arrives because she felt something in the air. They begin their march to the castle/lab.
At this point, Talon is shackled down and begging teresa not to do what she's planning and she's ignoring him, reading her spellbook and chanting while Talon shivers and cries and Aurum just watches on. Nanaki tries to stop her mom but is held down by Vincent under orders, who apologizes. He tells her he doesn't want Chitsume alive. She tries to fight free at the same time as Kiba and Koto arrive on the scene and, after some persuading, Teresa drops her book and looks like she's about to leave before she grabs Talon's collar and slips it off.
Kiba and Koto at this point try and stop her but it's too late and, in a matter of seconds, Talon is gone, replaced by Chitsume in his body. Chitsume flexes his hands and gets used to being physical before growing his hair back out to the ground and letting it curl, tying it into a ponytail and feeling his old clothes reform on his body. It is a long, detailed cloth guard covering his pants with elegant patterns and stitching. He tells teresa that, as promised, she gets one wish.
Teresa wishes she is the strongest being on the universe and Talon tells her to think it over carefully. Teresa screams that that's what she want and Chitsume grants her that wish...making her human and not mage. Humans outnumber all the Immortals and she is now the strongest being in the world. To which Chitsume simply counts backwards from five and tells her that it's now him, able to absorb the power of the moon again. Teresa, feeling betrayed, tries to attack him but is easily kicked to the other side of the room like a rag doll. It's at this point that the other wolves start piling around the old lab and Chitsume greets them.
Some wolves bow, recognizing him, others stand their ground. Chitsume simply sighs and says the room is too crowded before he transforms into his default form and presses through the ceiling. The wolves escape the debris and Chitsume is left staring at the sky, watching the moon fill in red, telling it how he's missed it and that's it's been a while since he basked in its glow. Some of the wolves launch an attack but he's not having it and instead takes to simple swipes and kicks, enough to knock most of them away or even kill the unlucky ones. Other Immortals, sensing the fight, have come to assist, knowing what will happen if Chitsume stays alive.
Chitsume, angered that those lesser than him are doing their best to stop him, decides to sift through the wreckage of the lab and find human survivors, devouring them for their meat and blood and enfusing himself with power slowly. The fight continues. Gluttony, at this point, has gotten so much venom into Chitsume that the great wolf staggers and, seeing who did it, Chitsume becomes angry and focuses his attacks on the mutant wolf. He manages to get a good hit and the wolf-mutant screams out so loudly, it awakens Talon inside of Chitsume.
It's here that Talon wanders, naked and in his childhood form, crying and stumbling in the shadowy mindscape. He's lost and afraid and scared and all he knows is to move forward. It's then he hears his mom's voice saying she missed her son and wanted to see him again but not like this. After seeing she's still alive, Talon embraces her, now in his adult form, and they discuss what has happened. Talon's mom tells him she was the second berserker and that she's tried to keep him safe for years but her grip slipped over time.
Talon tells her he thought the other berserker looked familiar and she just laughs and says it was her, protecting her son. She knows Chitsume is awake and says she can stop him but only if they hurry, to which Talon says there's no escape from here. Ayame replies that there is and shows him the doorway, the vision of what Chitsume's seeing, and, seeing Gluttony wounded and crying for him, Talon grows desperate and starts clawing through the 'walls'.
Ayame sighs and explains that he was never a berserker; in fact, the term didn't mean what he thought. She explains that they're something called a Voidling, a being that exists because demons do, and she explains that if he channels the berserker power, he can possibly achieve this state since Talon has claimed his berserker powers. He does so and they're able to escape.
Outside, the fight continues and Talon and Ayame land safely. Talon is in wolf form and so is his mother, her hair remniscent of her berserker form's and Talon sporting large, blue-purple horns, a leftover from demon blood in his veins. Koto calls him an idiot and says he looks horny, immediaterly going flying from Chitsume's abilities. From there, Chitsume is growing increasingly upset. He's not absorbing the power of the moon fast enough and the attacks are leaving him weakened, essentially leaving him in a balanced state of power. Chitsume uses what little power left within to switch into his cerberus mode.
His form grows larger, thicker, more powerful and Ayame fears the worst before she finds Lily in the fight and, giving her the magic she stored in her all those years ago, gives it to Lily, who shatters her mask and Ascends, in a pseudo ascension anyways. THis lets Lily become a fox and while she's not as strong as Chitsume, she's able to hold him back long enough for the others to attack Chitsume. Included in the fight is Darm, Nanaki in her hellhound form, and Vincent the hellhound. Naela joins later but she's not a strong fighter so she takes to taking the wounded out of the battle.
Teresa is still alive and able to chant and does a sealing spell, and while she's not a mage, she can still power the book. From there, Nanaki takes over and casts a binding spell, sharpy thorns that pierce into Chitsume's form. Ayame takes this as a sign and uses her own thorny-vine ability to take Chitsume down and, while held, the rest of the wolves focus on his face and chest, going for vitals. Lily is bleeding out from an impalement wound from Chitsume's saber fangs but she's still doing her best to hold him down.
Chitsume knows he's going to be sealed again and, smiling, he grabs Talon in a paw, clasps his old collar against his throat and lets the incantation run out. If Chitsume dies, he's taking his grandson with him so that his grandson will reincarnate in the future to a stronger vessel. Talon tells everyone to continue to fight so he can be sealed away and they do so. Chitsume's form melts away into his human one and he collapses, body dissolving into a dark puddle that the earth quickly absorbs. Talon is left on the dirt.
Ayame rushes to his side and holds his head and he laughs and tells her for once, his mind is quiet and he can hear his own thought. he then laments, saying that he wishes he has something to think about in his last moments. He tells her he's sorry and she tells him he has nothing to apologize for. Koto, Kiba and the rest quickly rush over. Lily's trying to staunch the bleeding but she knows it's fruitless; Chitsume took his soul when he died. Talon tells Darm to watch after Koto and Gluttony nudges Talon, trying to keep him awake, but he ultimately fails and Talon dies.
The group spend some time just watching him and mourning their losses. He wasn't the only one dead but his impact was tough and they decide that they need to attend to his body. Ayame, her body long since gone, has no physical form to return to and gives the rest of her soul to both Gluttony and Lily. Lily takes Ayame's soul and forms a new mask, her ascension marks on her face permanently. Gluttony is able to understand human speech and can now speak, though he cannot use his own voice; he can only mimic other's voices. he mostly still makes weird noises.
Talon is buried a day later in his favorite spot on the campground; a large hill overlooking a small town he frequented. Darm and Koto held carry the casket and Talon is buried alongside his family and friends. Dark and Koto end up together. Rowena grows up with the wolf pack. Raxx and Leon get married. No-Name is finally given a name by Jamalai, who calls her 'Sweetheart'. Paradox moves back home to france. Kiba starts drinking out of Ayame's glasses again. Naela is returned to the wild. Everything goes quiet for a while.
A year later, Talon is walking along the paths of the Void, not a hellhound but not human enough for the afterlife and finds his way instead to Chitsume's holding cell. There, he meets a familiar pair of eyes and he tells the hellhound, Church, he wants to see his grandfather. Church laughs, says Chitsume never "had" any kids, and Talon brushes past him to go see Chitsume.
Chitsume is strung up, shackled head to toe, and muzzled from all three heads. From there, Chitsume scoffs and asks if Talon came here to gloat, to which Talon explains that he harbored Chitsume all these years and Teresa is walking free, covered in the marks of hundreds of hellhounds. Chitsume says he knows this and knows she's human, she won't last long in the above world. Talon makes a proposition and asks Chitsume if he wants to be free again. Chitsume appears confused and curious.
Talon says he knows Chitsume was the first demon, the first hellhound, and knows that he wasn't sealed away in a book: he was given a contract sign. Talon then looks at Chitsume and tells him 'I want to make a contract with you." Chitsume's eyes widen. They both smile.
On the surface, two clawed paws dig through the dirt and climb from the ground. The claws are bright red and belong to Talon who now has a strand of white hair that's beginning to multiply and, hearing the hellhounds from down below, he gets up and starts running away, being tailed by a hellhound with purple horns named 'Church', another hellhound he made a contract with. They find themselves on the run and the world feels the ripple of Chitsume's life returning, but nobody can find them.
Talon and Church end up making a proper contract and, after grabbing his things and two plane tickets, they set off for their new home. Talon had some unfinished business back in Kyoto and he plans to fix them all. With brute force if he has to.
Obviously, these are the spoilers for Chapters 8-10 of Chemical Attraction and a slight bit of Project Sorrow because the comic ends on an epilogue/Project Sorrow's Prequel.
