what has bigshow been up to lately?

finally got the Datsun to run under its own power. yes...i bought a 280z from a junkyard for 700 bucks......and yes, i know i have too many things that need fixing *both 68 novas* or things that need constant fixing *my subaru* but i couldnt pass it up. this is what ive mostly been putting time into over the weekends for most of last month, and after nearly tossing the fuel injection system in the ditch *or on ebay* and going to a SU carb swap, it finally runs now. had to hold my foot under the brake pedal after watching it get sucked to the ground whenever the car started, so there are some major vacuum leaks somewhere.
Eitherway, it runs now...or was running in the vid. hadnt cranked it up anymore after that as ive been tied up with other stuff. Just gotta figure out what its loading up like it was whenever you give it gas and ill be all good. Next i gotta get the clutch working and throw on a front right tire and see if i can go around the block without crashing into anything XD.
in other news, thinking of getting another commission from
again, as well as trying to finish some art i have just sitting up, namely the commission for 
and the macro idea 
came up with during one of our chats. Just need to sit open the pic up and finish drawing it *seriously, i just got one final thing to do the the pic of Min and Draconis, and im dragging ass instead of just working on it.....just hope it doesnt go over a year like last time XD. anyways, thats all i got for now. Ill probably write another journal next year or something....seems like i hadnt been updating this thing all that much.

Cool, I hope you have fun with your new project car. My grandpa had an 280Z back in the day, it was a fun car. :)

lol, im learning. IM also learning that when you see random wires running everywhere, theres a 50/50 chance it goes to something important, or something that will throw sparks everywhere

Generally throwing sparks is bad. Do you have a wiring diagram for the car? Couldn't hurt to have one of those if you need to do electrical work.

dont have a haynes or chilton on hand, nor do i have the FSM or efi bible downloaded.....yet, cause i really should. just been going with the tried and true method of tracking down a wire, and pulling it to see where it moves, or the older method of, "where does this blue wire running beside the main harness goes to", which means i get the above, or blowing fuses/burning old burned out wire

Well just do everyone a favor and make sure that you don't end up running said sparks through you. Remember as a bag of salty water humans are somewhat decent conductors. ;)

lol, oddly enough, ive rarely shocked myself with car electronics.......though ive burned myself from said wire more than i have shocked myself. heck ive shoved myself more with tiller motors and household electronics more than cars.....unless you count the static shock you get when you ground yourself to the body of the car XD. but yeah. im just trying not to mess up anything that hasnt been already reverse engineered on the car from the previous owner/s

or you know...could do a jz swap...just saiyin XD either one i could find from pull a part. and even if i dont to much like em, i could do a LS swap just to say i have a LS powered vehicle. was going to get this vortec 350 from my dads old 88 sierra but, he hasnt cleaned out most of the junk in his backyard so i can get to it. i also have a 4.3 just laying around, wouldnt mind making a typhoon style turbo setup for it. *sighs* ill think of something....eventually

well hopefully now that ive gotten the car to start and dont have much left on it, i should be around a bit more on the weekends
