BIG UPDATE
Oh man, it been a while. 2018 has been a hell of a year, both good and bad. So here we go!
Mom update
So shortly after MFF 2017, I found out my mom was placed in hospice. I devoted the first half of 2018 traveling to visit her as well as try to help her, going down about every 2 to 2 1/2 weeks on one of my days off. She lives 3 1/2 hours from me and since I generally don't have two days off in a row, each visit meant 7 hours on the road in one day. This was very costly and I'm so thankful for all my friends who helped me out so I could afford to go down as often as I did as well as help with some comfort items for my mother and going out to eat with her.
Mom eventually improved enough to be taken off of hospice but she still needed to stay in the nursing home to keep from relapsing as it was only from her care at Village Manor that helped her health stabilize. I eventually took a month of FMLA leave so that I could go down for longer stretches of time and try to help organize Mom's possessions and figure out storage plans. This was derailed slightly, as about half way into my leave, I found out my mom was refusing to pay her full rent to the nursing home and owed several thousands dollars to them. After much hassle over two weeks, my aunt (her sister) and her brother were finally able to get financial power of attorney to sort out the money issues and make sure she didn't get kicked out of the home.
Another thing that happened while on FMLA leave was numerous hospitalizations. My mother has osteomylitis, inflammation and destruction of the bone around her right hip implant. The bone was dissolving and has been affecting other areas aside from her hips. Because of the condition, she is prone to infection and have been on many strong antibiotics to combat it. Anyways, getting back to the point, mom dislocated her hip multiple times, having to be sent to Salina regional hospital and eventually to Wichita for revisions. This happened several times. By the end of it, they removed the hip implant hardware, leaving Mom with just antibiotic filler and 100 percent wheelchair bound.
Towards the end of the FMLA leave, while dealing with the Power of Attorney stuff, I was reminded how truly paranoid my mother is as well as abusive. She truly believed that everyone was out to get her, to go through her personal documents and steal her money and possessions. On top of that, my mother has a history of playing the victim card and of gaslighting. She is emotionally abusive and seeing how she reacted during the two weeks my aunt, uncle, and I were trying to get power of attorney reminded me how bad it was and left me stressed and crying. After talking with my aunt for a while, I made the decision to leave the power of attorney between my aunt and uncle and to step back from dealing with my mother.
This is the best decision I could have made. Mom is safe at Village Manor. My aunt keeps in constant contact and we message each other for updates. Mom has discontinued all antibiotics and insisted she be on comfort measures only but she is well cared for and thats all I can ask for. Stepping away allowed me to recovered from the stress of the situation and also served as a firm reminder as to why I originally walked away from her in the first place. And while I have not visited my mother since, the light contact via phone and texting seems to work out while I try to gain control of my own life. Once her health starts declining or if I get any serious news, I will resume visiting her but for now, I have to focus on myself.
Seirei Creations and costume making
As expected from everything with my mom this year, I haven't been able to work on much. I made a quick set of legs, feet, and a tail for a small friend cosplay weekend I did with my best friend and cousin as I haven't been able to go to any cons and see alot of my friends. However, I did start playing with Sculptris, a 3D sculpting program. My roommate, Steube, has been nice enough to help me with prints and with that, I've been able to mold and start casting foam bases.
I currently have 2 bases available for sale, a chocobo and a canine. I plan on some bird bases as well as a dragon one, a feline, and some experimental ones. They are all toony style and I'm super excited to start offering these as I rebrand Seirei Creations into a fursuit part company with the occasional premade.
If you're ever interested in a base, they start at $75 plus shipping. At $100, the base can be carved out and custom eyes made to go with the base. And at $200, the base can be full prepared as a ready to fur base though this is only offered with the canine currently.
Feel free to message me if you're interested!
Other stuff
So with me stepping back form visiting Mom all the time, I've been slowly trying to work on my commission queue. I have 2 full body suits almost done and a tail for a past suit to make. There is another full body commission on my queue but I plan to refund them them when I am financially able to (hoping by early 2019).
I will also be at 2 out of state cons this winter and I can not wait. Cons are how I relax and get to see a lot of my friends so my depression has been through the roof and mental health just a mess in general. But look for me at DaishoCon in Wisconsin and MFF!
Finally, I've been talking to and dating
Shadowsedge for quite a while~ I'm so thankful to have this Derg/Serg in my life and for how understanding and patient he is. Long distance is hard (A little over 3 hr drive) but we're making it work the best we can. I always look forward to when I can visit him <3
Anyways, I think thats it for now. I do have the feraligatr up for sale on Dealersden though I need to relist it so look for the link in the comments!
Thank you all for sticking with me! Till next time~ <3

I'm glad you are able to have family step in to help your mom. I know with my husband's grandparents when we stepped back, it was because the abuse got to be too much for us as well. Someone else taking over was the best we could do, and now they are fine at the nursing home.
