IT'S HALLOWEEN-EVE (September Update)
Yo wtf happened to august it was like the 1st a few days ago and then it was gone.
I meant to only take a short break but it looks like I ended up being gone for a month. I'm feeling refreshed though, and of course, excited for October! I'm going to be reviewing my Goretober list, and posting up slots to buy a theme starting the last week of September. The 24th, to be exact.
If you liked the last two years and want to get a slot this year, they're going to be $30 usd each.
So keep that in mind if you want to save up~
I have a couple things to work on, but I think for most of September I'm going to just do more art for myself?
I always want to do more personal art, but feel guilty if I'm not done paid work first, and end up blanking when I do finally have time. Commissions are still open of course, but I'm going to try to stick closer to my work schedule of personal art days on the weekend, and a break day Wednesday.
I've also been studying French again on an unrelated note.
Here's hoping I actually stick with it this time around.

FA+

cant wait to see more of ur stuff!!!
WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS
cause then it comes october
which means I can see the gory!
well this month disappeared
and I kinda want that to happen to the next one
cause
Im
dying on works and stuff
Yuuh that means I can hope to see the pict done this month o:
And on a completly unrelated note....If you gonna do personal art
If you can, start with either Yonah or your beautiful blue doggo! I always love to see art of them
or even...a certain edgy bird?
I never liked french for some reason
but I totally want to learn japanese,
or maybe german (but mostly because my grandmother if from germany)
If we skipped September it would be right from summer beach weather like 35 Celsius to just snowing....
I have your art almost done, I dunno if it'll be done today, but it should be this week.
I maybe have some ideas for that, but I'm not sure if they'll be the first drawn.
I have a few other OCs I've been meaning to do more with recently.
I was forced to learn it in a bad environment not suited for actually learning a language (school, ironically.) so I hated French for the longest time, even though I did want to learn how to speak it. Took me forever to get over that, but out of all the languages I could learn French would be most useful to me where I live.
I took Japanese for a long time and that was fun, it's easier than French imo, even including learning Kanji. 5 years, but I ended up having to stop taking the classes because life got in the way. I'm trying to pick it up again but I've really forgotten a lot of it, used to be able to write weekly journals but now I'm struggling to remember grammar and vocab.
Tried German too, but at the time I didn't really know how to teach myself, and Duolingo wasn't the best at the time.
There was also a short period I tried learning Danish...
I wanted to learn Spanish as well, but I think for now just keeping up with daily French and Japanese study is a lot to balance
here is almost the same weather all year long
So we dont really notice a thing
Ohh it happened to me in school too, french
and I hated it
still kinda dont like it
Thats a lot of different languages you have been trying to learn I must say
Indeed, dont take too many languages at once!
but if you ever want to learn spanish and need some help
Remember that it is my native language and I can help!
We go from +35 and humid or more for like two weeks straight of summer to -45 in the dead of winter for two whole months. (Celsius)
It was just a really poorly set up environment...
None of the teachers knew how to actually teach a language, which is different from teaching something like math or science. On top of that, I didn't know ANY French, so I always stayed silent in class while the kids who were already bilingual answered all the questions and such.
By the time I actually ran into a teacher who knew how to teach french, I was interested, but so far behind since I knew nothing, it felt like a wasted opportunity.
It's certainly not fun to learn, all the silent letters and verb conjugations, but I feel proud to be trying at very least, even though duolingo's French doesn't really make you ready to have conversations in the early lessons, I think I'm making progress.
It just kinda sucks cause with japanese we used pretty much the best textbook we could be working with, and we learned conversational vocabulary and grammar very early, so doing things like writing journals was super easy to do and was a really fantastic way to push our studies and solidify what we've learned.
I feel like I'd be advancing with french much faster if I had the opportunity to work like that, but I'm still hoping I get there with duolingo's later lessons.
I'll keep that in mind!
Though, you'd have to deal with embarrassingly bad mistakes if I do get around to picking it up.
Althought I kinda prefer the cold gasp, than having to deal with all the het, but I do get your point!
No worry about that
its not like if I had been in contact with english for so loong and I still get some pronunciation wrong
Like the are some words I cant said exactly as they are supossed to be
also spanish is a lot easier to pronunce, buut the true struggle is actually learning that many ways you can combine a word depending of the situation
Plus I love plants and seeing actual life outside not just the occasional rabbit digging for food in a baren wasteland.
That’s fair,
Though it is honestly impressive to me you know more than one language, even if sometimes pronunciation is difficult. Anyone who’s multilingual I have a lot of respect for.
Only being able to speak English I feel really limits more than just communication, because different languages come with different viewpoints and understandings of the world? Even just small differences between languages can show a whole different perspective.
