Comics, Whitney Cosplays, and Family Updates
7 years ago
Hello, folks!
Whitney and I just wanted to share a quick update on things and provide a status update on our projects. We're now three months away from the due date for the baby, and we're already feeling the crunch on the time. So things are going to be taking a shift in the coming months as we are preparing the new nursery and moving things around. This is actually our main task right now: converting the room that has been our main art room (for comic production and streaming) into a nursery, and moving the art space to a new room downstairs. This project is still in the early phases and as such everything is currently a chaotic mess, so we've had to move comic production to other temporary spaces.
Comic Updates
While the art room is still a work-in-progress, comic production is going to be slowed, so updates to both Peter & Company and Peter & Whitney will be a bit sporatic throughout the remainder of the year. We're trying to get both comics done as often as we can, but without a dedicated space for it at the moment (and most of our free time going towards moving everything, stripping wallpaper, repainting, and gutting the old work closet), we likely won't be able to meet the weekly schedule like we've been trying to maintain. This doesn't mean the comics are going on haitus, but just that there likely will be a bit of a delay between pages is all.
The Whitney Cosplays Throughout 2018
I've now got three years of Whitney Cosplays under my belt (with the 2017 collection book due before the end of the year), and I had every intention of continuing the series throughout 2018 (with the usual October launch just a month away now) -- but with the baby's arrival so close, I have decided I should take a year's break away from the series in order to have as much time to focus on everything else I need to be doing. This doesn't mean I won't be doing any more cosplays throughout the year, though! It just means I'll be changing things up a bit.
Specifically, just for the next 12 months, I will still be doing additional Whitney cosplays (pencils, inked and colored), but they'll temporarily be featured as Patreon-exclusive bonuses with the aim to do 1-2 each month throughout the year. The full official series will then resume in October 2019 with a new roster of 31 cosplay sketches, including the full public funding phase as always (to give people a chance to buy the lineart for their favorites), and once the 2019 print collection book is finished, all of the cosplays I manage to produce through 2018 will be included with it.
For those curious, the $5 tier on the Peter & Whitney Patreon (http://www.patreon.com/peterandwhitney) will be where the individual 2018 cosplays are shared once they are completed. I'll begin production on those once the 2017 book is out the door.
The Peter & Company Pilot Episode
Progress has been slow-yet-steady over the past few years, but we're pushing to move things along over the next 12 months and get an animatic out the door. To help with this, once the new art space is completed, I will begin hosting a once-a-week pilot stream where we will be exclusively working on storyboards, backgrounds, and other pieces of the pilot.
Future Streams (After Baby's Arrival)
A question we've been bouncing around is how we will handle our dual-streams once the baby has been born. Before now, Whitney and I had been streaming together to work on projects, since she also has her own Picarto channel. Obviously we won't be able to do that once we've got a little one demanding attention, so chances are we will be juggling streaming duties until we have fully settled into our new family life routine. We'll have more details on this when the time comes and have decided just how we'll be handling things on this front.
So yes! We will try to keep everyone updated on all our social media fronts, but the best places to recieve immediate updates on things are either on our Twitter or Discord channels. We regularly post to both, and in fact chat with folks on a daily basis in Discord, so if you'd like to know what we're up to, that's the place to find us.

Thank you, everyone! Once we find our groove with our new parenting duties, things will get back into a more regular update schedule. Thank you to everyone who follows our work and supports us on Patreon!
