Hey there,
So....am I the only one that knows that there's way more road rage happening nowadays than what I was expecting? It's just silly to me, I know some people have only a limited amount of tolerance when it comes to people doing things that'd make someone angry and I know that people tend to make ANY excuse to cause a scene, but why? "But you don't even drive" my friends and family would say, but that doesn't mean that I've seen enough of it *coughcough*YouTube*coughcough*.
Anyway, say you turn into a left turn lane, but at the very last second you decide you wanna go to the right turn lane. But all of a sudden, another driver is coming up to the right turn lane at the very exact moment you decide to go into the right turn lane. And then they end up hitting you on one of your tail lights (this scenario literally happened form my way back from work to heading home). Who's to blame? Obviously you are, cause you decided to turn into the other lane at the very exact moment they come up to that very exact lane. What kind of excuse would you have to blame the other person. That just makes you a dick.
Now what if you're on the highway, driving at 60 mph at the exact speed that is posted on the highway signs, or roughly around 75 or 80 mph [legally]. But then someone has the great idea to cut you off just so they can go on further past you, whether it's that the driver is going under the speed limit or that the other driver has somewhere to be at at an exact time. Two things that come to my mind that could happen:
1. The other driver fails to pass you up clearly.
2. They pass you up successfully without damage.
Depending on the situation, especially in most states, you could be written up a ticket for it or even more lawful approaches.
Anyway. what I'm going at is....
STOP BEING A DICK, KNOW YOUR LAWS AND STOP YELLING AT PEOPLE JUST BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T HAVE YOUR WAY WITH DRIVING THROUGH!!!!
Again, I understand that everyone has their limits for tolerance and that people could get as angered to the point that they would pull a machete or a gun on you and try to hit you out of rage (seeing enough of it, I can safely say that has definitely happened at least once in any interaction), but still, you're reliable for any damages you cause to another driver or anyone else while you drive. And you're especially reliable for doing anything illegal while driving.
*ahem* So now that I got all that out of the way, here's what I'm thinking. (***DISCLAIMER*** This is MY OPINION! This is what I think and I may not be the only one. If you disagree with the idea that I have in mind or have another idea, let me know with a reply down below. Let's make this actually civilized....as in calm, cool, collected and non-violent actions....cause we already have enough of that stuff happening this year....and possible next year....y'know what I mean)
So, in case this isn't already a thing, I believe that there needs to be a three-strike rule for road rage in majority of cases. This would include any instance of physical violence and verbal or physical threats (including any type of slurs). The very moment any physical damage is caused to another person inside or outside their vehicle, it would be an immediate take away of your driver's license for a year or more depending on how far the instance goes in the situation. For example, a wreck was caused cause someone was passing the driver up and caused moderate damage to the driver's vehicle. The moment someone is on the verge of causing physical harm, they have the choice to either find a way to work out the situation regardless of what it costs or, if they end up causing any type of damage ranging from moderate to deadly, or reveals that they have a weapon that they're more than tempting to use, depending on either situation that occurs during the wreck, that driver would earn up to 5-7 years or more depending on the state laws and how much damage the enraged driver chooses to deal to the other driver or any of the passengers that are in the driver's vehicle. Depending on the circumstance, it may include x days/months/years of community service and/or any type of mild to severe detention.
(***DISCLAIMER*** Again, this is only MY OPINION! If you have any additional or alternate ideas for situations like this or if you just wanna call me dumb or that this is a bad idea, let me know down below. Keep it civil, calm, cool and as non-violent as possible....even if we're in 2018 right now)
