FrozenToday is working on making a group for skunks who aren't into the whole stinky/smelly image and fetishes that so many people associate with them.
See this journal for more details: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8886218/
And be sure to check out the newly created group: NOT_STINKY (currently under construction)
Oh hey, another group for kink-shaming! Nice. I see he got invited to the elitist Telegram group that kicked me out just for talking about spray, too. Appropriate.
How is making a group for those who AREN'T into that sort of thing kink-shaming? They just want a group where they can talk with others who aren't into that sort of thing in peace.
Just like those who create SFW and/or NSFW so those who don't like/aren't comfy with mature stuff and be in a space without that worry.
The only one "kink-shaming" here is you. (as in, you seem to have a problem that these guys don't like the stink aspect, so therefore wanna shame them for it. That's the same thing. Well done sir :/ )
I remember this from the other telegram group. I also remember it wasn't just a couple of offhand mentions of it, it was frequent and extended arguments.
The intention of this group was to be a community for people who don't want to be constantly bombarded with stink/spray fetish discussion. I have left other groups where that was a common topic.
If you were a raven, and found lots of groups for ravens, but they constantly talked about eating people's eyeballs, and you weren't comfortable with that, finding a group for ravens that avoided the topic of eating eyeballs might appeal to you. This is the same sort of idea.
As long as you're not pushing the spray fetish on others, it should be just fine. But from my experience in the past, I really thought you wouldn't be interested in this group.
Actually it was just one long argument, I talked about getting sprayed, people got offended and I went into more detail, which only upset them more. I defended my case when I could, but also told them that most of what I was relating was from a fictional story I wrote, but it didn't matter.
As for leaving skunk spray fetish groups because people are discussing skunk spray, that leaves one to wonder why you'd enter a group like that in the first place?
The raven thing is a pretty false equivalency. Ravens don't naturally attune themselves to eating people's eyeballs. You pretty much just see that in horror stories.
Skunks spray all the time in nature, it's their only reliable defense mechanism (though they try to run and/or feign being larger and scarier first in the warning display). So any group that outright bans musk/spray discussion at all is like telling people you can talk about cats as long as you never mention their claws or teeth.
I'm rather surprised you think I push my fetishes on people. I don't, and never have. The most passionate I get with people are those that deliberately change how a skunk's body works (usually through surgical removal of their character's scent glands, a process that would almost certainly kill them and/or cause major medical problems like rectal prolapse) just because they believe in the very ignorant stereotypes that groups like this one are trying to dissolve. I've had long discussions devolve into flamewars when people think I'm forcing people to only play a skunk character if they're into the kink, which has never been the case, or even implied. Alas, people are prone to black-and-white thinking, believing that either someone's extremely into something and pushes some kind of agenda all the time to reinforce that extreme belief on others, or they're a victim of that extremism and swing the other way.
I wasn't in a skunk spray fetish group, it was just a skunk group, but there were people constantly talking about spray and stink and stuff, and it just didn't interest me. I'm pretty sure there was even a bunch of scat and fart stuff, too. So, I left. That was quite a while ago, at this point.
The raven thing was just an example, it wasn't meant to be realistic. The point was that if you wanted to avoid the subject that you were uncomfortable with, it would be nice to have a place where you could go where you weren't constantly bombarded with it.
Even so, yes, spray exists. I know some people are fans of it. I'm not. I like the idea of a place I can go where people aren't constantly talking about it. And frankly, I don't appreciate the hostility I've been seeing from some members just for not wanting to be buried in posts about skunk spray and the like.
As long as people aren't constantly posting about spray and stink and stuff, it'll probably be just fine.
Heck, I even have one pic involving that, mostly for comedy purposes, (also it's rather cute) but seeing it constantly would probably bother me.
You were in Mephit Mania at one point so yes you were in a skunk spray fetish group. It's actually in the MM rules and charter. That would be why you were "bombarded" by people talking about spray and such. Most of the members of the chat are there to swap pics, stories and RP openly about that kind of thing. Guess you got the wrong idea about the group. Might explain why we fluctuate the membership as often as we do, too. I didn't even notice you'd left, since for whatever reason that group's notifications for people leaving aren't showing up.
I don't recall seeing any members of MM getting hostile with you. As an admin, I would've put a stop to it the minute I got a report. Quite honestly my experience has been the opposite: righteous indignation in other groups from people not into the kink, and seeing posts from people on FA, DeviantArt, etc. playing the victim about playing a skunk character and allegedly being harassed by kinky furries to depict their character gassing/spraying people just because they have a skunk character. I don't know why the artists that are so uncomfortable about such requests/commissions can't simply politely decline and move on, but then I don't have access to their e-mail and Note history and thus cannot judge whether they're exaggerating or are actually getting terroristic threats, doxxing, and RL violence over it, which would justify such extreme reactions.
I didn't make a judgement on you. You flat-out accused this new group of kink-shaming just because they wanted a clean group, which I called you out on. If anything, you judged them first.
If you don't want people to get the wrong side of your comment, word it better next time.

I was thrown out of a skunk group on Telegram just for talking about spray. I'd consider that kink-shaming.
Anyway I checked out the new group and they don't throw people out for it so not a big deal.
Oh but hey way to judge someone for having an opposing opinion?
