Ummm are custom thumbnails broken, or

I have tried to change the thumbnails on stuff approximately three times and it doesn't seem to accept them at all? Is this known or is my browser being a massive butt? It gives no confirmation or info or pop-up at all and just refreshes the page when I hit Submit after choosing a file :?
Hm.. might be borked, or they have to be specific dimensions. I can't recall what.
