UPDATES! I'm moving!
Where have I been the last month?
WELL - a lot has gone on, most of them have not been good. Not good at all lmao
One of those things is that my computer died 4 weeks ago and I was just now able to afford repairs!
What's next?
Now that my computer is running I'm finishing the last two items on my queue and then I will be going on another hiatus as I'm moving!!
My family and I have made the decision to move from Las Vegas to Indiana.
We just can't afford the rising price of living at this point.
It will definitely be a culture shock for me. I mean I've lived in a big 24 hour city my entire life and now we're going to a small town. I'm extremely nervous, but also very excited!! I'm truly hoping the move will help with my mood and motivation and will relieve me of some of my stress. I've already put in my notice at work and we were approved for a rental! Our move in date is November 11th.
The house is adorable! The outside looks like its made of bricks! I've never seen a brick house in person before so i'm really excited about that tbh (at least not that I think?? I'm really bad at paying attention to my surrounds and only paying attention to my "objective" so who knows. I just know i'm happy to never see another stucco house again lmao).
Its also right next to that town's "medical district" so I'm really hoping this improves my opportunities at getting work.
I will not be online for a few weeks after I've finished my last two commissions. Once I come back you can all expect some YCHs and other new art things.
Stay tuned!

FA+

That is an entire different country. HUUUGE change!
What were some of the biggest things you noticed were different?
I'll name a few off the bat: space (Tokyo is cramped/can almost never see the horizon; the midwest is very open, spacious, and things are spread far apart). Public transport here is very minimal/rudimentary comparatively. You need a car to get anywhere.
The fauna/flora are very different. So many different wild animals here.
Obviously people - I've always been sort of perceived as different even in Japan due to being mixed race, but it's odd considering that most people thought of me as white over there while people in the US have a hard time believing I'm not 100% Asian.
These are pretty superficial points but they're the ones I can think of right now. I mostly knew about them/knew to expect them because my family has flown here for vacation several times during my childhood. There's a lot of more subtle cultural/societal stuff that I never noticed until after I spent months/years actually living here.
Also, unrelated, but about that art trade... I kind of got caught up in a bunch of stuff but I just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten and I'm still planning on sending you a WIP when I can, lol. Sorry about the wait.
