Update + Commissions opening tomorrow!
Hey guys, it's been a LONG time! But I'm excited to announce I'm finally clear and ready to take on new work.
But, that said, I'm changing some things with my openings, so bear with me, as I know this is a lot of text! I took some time to get through all my Patreon stuff and what was left of my slots/wait list, and now that's all done. It's been a long time since I've opened because so much stuff happened and with starting Patreon and taking sub slots from there, that ate up a lot of my time on commission work.
I've decided to sit Patreon aside for now, and posted an update about it on Patreon to any patrons who haven't seen it yet. I want to focus on taking some commission work from FA for now since I feel bad I haven't been able to in so long and I get notes so often asking when I'll be opening again. I've been fighting a bit of burn out because I was so bogged down in my old way of taking commission work with very long wait lists, and it's just something I need to put a stop to for future openings. I felt pressured to ONLY do commission work when I had a standing wait list, and it left no time for me to have fun with things like YCHs, designing, personal work, special commission offers, etc. And with that style of opening, I was often stacked up with very large orders that would take days to complete for a single order, and that's something I need to not do anymore either.
Things are changing to suit what I think will allow for the most productivity and motivation for me, and all around I think it'll be better for me and the people commissioning me.
So, about the opening!
For now, I won't be taking first come first served commissions. I'll be putting up a journal calling for prompts, and it'll be left open, so there's absolutely no rush on this! I'll just ask for character refs, commission type, and a simple description of your idea. I'll pick the prompts that I am most interested in and note people for further payments/details.
This opening will be for speedpaints only for now! That said, those are also changing. I've gone substantially overtime on almost all of the timed drawings I've done lately, and not because I've taken it slower or anything, but I just prefer spending more time on things to get a higher finish quality because I've kind of grown tired of trying to cram everything into a time limit.
So 'one hour' drawings will now be called Portrait Speedpaints, 'two hour' drawings will now be called Scene Speedpaints. These will not have the same time limits, but will still be speedpaints, and they will retain a similar 'cropping' to one and two hour drawings, with portrait speedpaints having a tighter crop around the character and less environment, and scene speedpaints having more of an environment. They will essentially look the same as what my one/two hour drawings looked framing-wise, but with a bit more polish like recent uploads have had! If you're curious in terms of time, it'll be around 1.5-2 hours for portrait speedpaints, and 3ish hours for scene speedpaints.
So prices will be different for these, portrait speedpaints will be $60, scene speedpaints will be $120. If I feel more up to doing some quicker drawings again in the future, I may take some slots for cheaper drawings to give people that can't afford these an opportunity, but for now I prefer having some extra time to polish things off more nicely! And it remains that there's no charge for 2 characters for these, but anything over 3 will need to have an extra charge discussed.
I'll still be taking other commission types, but not immediately! Scenes will be taken occasionally in separate openings so that I'm not taking on too many of those at once. Scenes will have a slight price bump to start at $250 and will remain pay what you want as they always have.
As for the opening time, I'll be posting the journal tomorrow at 10AM CST, and again there's no rush on this, it'll be left open and I'll select from it! But, if you want to nab an early slot, I'll be selecting the first several that catch my eye tomorrow afternoon. I'll likely leave the journal up for a month, and you can anticipate a note anytime through November if I choose your prompt. If you no longer want the commission you can just hide your comment. I'll probably make a fresh journal at the start of each month, and will be taking these in small batches, so turnaround time will be about a week to two weeks. I'll also be taking slots on a per piece basis and not per person. You're welcome to give me multiple prompts, and I'm more likely to accept your whole order if I choose you, but it'll mean I pick fewer people if I pick people that want numerous pieces.
Sorry this is a lot of info, it's just a lot to change, and I just want to make sure everything is clear! Please feel free to ask if you have any issues or questions!
I think that's about it, I'm looking forward to taking on new work and enjoying this clean slate and much more manageable way of taking commissoins! I hope this makes everyone feel a bit more like they have a chance since my FCFS openings have gone so quickly in the past. I will do FCFS openings again, but for now artist choice is best for me.
Thanks guys!!

I hope this new way of handling commissions will be less stressful and easier to manage!
As a side note, I'm not sure why but all your Patreon posts are locked for me. Maybe it's because you haven't accepted payment in over 30 days so it thinks I'm not a patron of yours. As a heads up, incase anyone else from Patreon comes here and says this is the first they are seeing of it. :)
Question: I do not have a fully finished ref but have clear w.i.p's in a Stash map, can you work with that?
And of course I'll be eyeing these openings uaah
I'm so happy you're back my heart skipped a beat haha ;;;
