Hope you all are enjoying Wolf on the Field! - Some thoughts
7 years ago
It always makes me so happy to know people are reading my work and enjoying it. I write my series for no other reason than my passion for the storyline and my developing characters.
As you all can see, the next series of chapters will be focused on the days leading into the full moon, with the day of the Full Moon converging many of the growing plotlines into one chaotic night. Needless to say, there's going to be some chapters focused mostly on character development and won't include detailed transformations (sorry!). I want to say in advance, please don't let that be a deterrent in continuing to read my series. I got some feedback from someone not too long ago who suggested I strip the drama away from my series and simply focus on transformations, which I could easily do...but it kinda takes away all the context and build-up I want associated with each transformation I include into my series.
I also want to throw out there that I always appreciate feedback - please feel free to comment or even send me a private note on what you think of the chapters. What makes my work and the series even better is knowing how my readers are receiving and interpreting the events unfolding. I even love it when I great those asking me, "Oh, is this character going to do this?" or "What is this character planning?" It may not have incredible value with the development of my series, but it at least tells me the focus on my readers and what is standing out to them, which is equally important to development.
Lastly, here's what to expect in coming chapters:
- Derek coming to grips about his anger
- A more direct introduction to Tyler, a sophomore varsity football player, who will start to notice some things and want to learn more.
- An introduction chapter focused on Kevin, who is the high school's go-to journalist and newspaper editor-in-chief. His dedication for covering certain aspects of the school year will get him learning more than anticipated, with potential consequences.
- Connor's backstory has been teased to readers, and readers will learn even more about him over the course of the week.
Thanks to you all again! Every one of you is a reason as to why I continue to write my series with the motivation I have!

Okie dokie.

My only suggestion would be to add in the chapter numbers again for the story submission titles (ie, "WotF Ch.20: The Lunar Gathering"). That makes it a little easier to remind readers where they left off if/when they lose track after being away from the story for a while. Especially if the chapters aren't filed to the gallery sub-folder.

You're absolutely right and that is a great suggestion!
