The most bizarre Monday...
So, ever since the new Halloween premiered in theaters, I've been wanting to go see it but have been unable to. I decided that today, Monday, I would go see it at the 9:30 PM showing. During the afternoon, I was sent to a small store further up the mountain from me to buy cat food. On my way back, some guy comes driving like an absolute maniac, very fast and in the middle of the very narrow road, so I was forced to swerve off-road to avoid the car, or else it would've crashed into me.
It just had to happen on the one single stretch of road where there is a two foot cement block for no reason, just sitting there, and my wheels crash into it. Both right side wheels of the car downright exploded from the impact despite the fact that I was driving slowly. I had to hitch a ride home, Dad had to borrow someone else's spare tire and use the car's own just to bring the car home, now tomorrow he has to buy two brand new tires. Meaning I was unable to go see the movie and now Dad has to spend a lot of money on new wheels.
So, after we bring the car home, I sit down, my appetite gone, just feeling down and depressed. And then the phone rings, I pick it up. It's from a lady at the central offices of the movie theater (it's a franchise with around 30 theaters throughout the island, my town included). She says she has a resume of mine, which I had taken to the movie theater some time back, and she asked if I was available to go to the central offices at our island's biggest mall (around a 45 to 60 minute drive from my house) for a job interview, to which I immediately said yes. I've always wanted to work at a movie theater, plus I have been looking for a job for some time now and nowhere would hire me, but now I have a chance, and it would be so good and mean a lot to me if I get hired.
The most ironic thing, though? I wanted to go today to see Halloween at the movie theater and was unable to due to that shit with the car, and then shortly afterwards they call me for a job interview for the movie theater, and the interview is this Wednesday at 1:00 PM. Wednesday being October 31st. Halloween. This cannot be a coincidence.
