It happened as I was making my way to the airport. The other driver simply cut across and got in front of me. He didn’t see me, nor did he use a turn signal. I had no time to stop or slow down to avoid him. My car hit the right side sliding door, then it veered to the right and impacted a wall.

The front end is pretty much trashed. I doubt the vehicle can be repaired. I have USAA insurance and the file has been claimed, just awaiting their assessment of the vehicle’s damage. The police were on the scene, getting myself and the other driver’s registration and insurance info. In the end it was determined that the other driver was at fault for cutting across and not taking notice of other vehicles driving by. As a result, all damages done to my car will get settled through his insurance.

As for me, I am doing just fine. I managed to walk away from the accident without any injuries, cuts or bruises. Since today is my day off, I get to lay back and relax.

Unfortunately I won’t be going out to the airport anytime soon, or anywhere else of interest for that matter.

But hey, at least I’m still breathing and in one piece. :)
